Back to school deals. This is enough for the kids and capping too
Existing - iD Mobile 500 mins, 500 MB, 5000 texts. iD have doubled the minutes of this plan - £3.99
New - iD Mobile 500 mins, 500 MB, 5000 texts. 30 day contract includes Data Rollover, Capping, Roaming - £3.99
For £3.99/mth you get 500 minutes (was 250), 5,000 texts and 500MB of 4G data on rollover. You can choose to limit your bill to no more than £5 over the tariff price. Also you can roll your unused data over into the next month. So use only 250mb one month and you'll have 750mb to use the next. No need to choose one over the other now! Capping, eu roaming and rollover included in this package.
*officially no tethering but iD say it uses allowances quicker so don't support it but will not kick you off if you do

Not just poor customer service - incompetent - after requesting termination of contract and paying for 2 additional months they still did nothing and were still taking money via direct debit. I refused to pay and they then took £130 from my bank account and gave me a bad credit rating which has affected it badly and I will continue to suffer for the next 5 years. This for a £5 deal. This feels like a burglary to me.

NO NO NO UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GO WITH THE **** COMPANY TO EXIST SINCE UMBRELLA COROPORATION.. I took out a SIM only deal with them to cancel it 7 days later, due to crap coverage in my area. Agreed on the phone and within t&cs this could be done without any issue. I destroyed the sin and I cancelled the direct debit but without telling me they continued to bill me. I called them 9 times over a 5month period each time took 30mins to get through to someone who had no idea to deal with my case. Each then told me not to worry it would be sorted. Then they set the debt collectors on me for £25 I didn't owe them. After more phone calls and still no resolution, slaying them on Facebook and Twitter was the only way they would sort it. A **** COMPANY with a shocking attitude towards customers. So with all the time equalling a full days work and the stress of debt collectors they refused to offer me any compensation... use Plusnet they are cheaper and their customer service is amazing.

Considering my parents top up £10 a month on O2! this is a cracking deal and they don't have a need for the 500mb data as they don't have smartphones. Heat added

I hope your parents' phones are 3G capable, not 2G only. The reason being is that Three and iD SIMs won't work in 2G only phones.

I believe they're 2G but would that matter if they don't use the internet?
preecey to MrMoneySavingExpert
1 Sep 17#59
Unfortunately it does matter - Three and iD don't permit the use of their SIMs in any 2G device, regardless of whether you plan to use the internet or not.
Three actually doesn't have a 2G network anyway, except in rare circumstances where there isn't a 3G or 4G signal and it piggybacks on EE's 2G network.
Your best bet would be to choose another network that allows 2G devices.
That's pretty much any other UK network, including Virgin, Asda, Plusnet and BT.

i've recently got 1500 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB data on Virgin mobile for £4 a month, monthly rolling contract (mentioned the deal on three which was £5, i think - no longer available. am sure if you mention the ID deal, they will match). I am a Virgin Media customer also.

For people 25 or under - check out Vodafone's new network "Voxi". £10/month gets you unlimited minutes/texts and unlimited social media data usage (Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, messenger, WhatsApp etc). (2GB on anything else). It's a top-up like giffgaff and 30 day rolling.

Example of iDMobile customer service, phoned up to upgrade my plan, got put on the one I requested but they missed out rollover, phoned several times to get it added and was told to phone back the next day (twice) eventually was told to change my plan in 30 days (standard time it takes to change to another plan), I made it clear I wasn't happy and was assured I would get a call back from a manger - which never happened. Ended up changing to the same plan 30 days later but this time using the website and the plan upgrade went fine.
So all in all, as long as you never have a problem and don't need to talk to CS they're great, otherwise, good luck.

Poor deal, if they are looking to sell this as kid friendly they need to increase the data as this is all kids use these days, calls and texts are the lowest priority these days with all the apps that use data for calls and texts.
iDmobile to bigdarlodave
15 Aug 17#38
Hi bigdarlodave, we sell contracts to customers 18 years and over, we do not sell to children. Adults do often purchase contracts that they allow their children to use, and we do offer up to 6 GB of data for those customers who need a little more.
bigdarlodave to iDmobile
15 Aug 17#45
I never stated you sell to children, i merely stated that if this is designed for the kids as the title suggests then more data would be better. My comment relates to the deal posted and not you as a company, however if you are taking feedback, i can suggest that the £5 cap be reduced or cap the data as my son received the text stating he had used the data, stopped using it but because the cap only allows for a further 50mb he was charged £10 for 1.55GB data which is poor deal in todays standards. As you can possibly tell i am no longer with ID

Hi Levente.Bodor, we are disappointed to hear that you have had a poor Customer Service experience. Can you advise a little further on what happened, so we can investigate this?
I checked the reviews for Vodafone, EE and O2 on trustpilot the other day, only EE had the same rating as ID, the others were a lower rating. Don't believe everything you see on the net, I've used them and they've been a good network to me.
Given that they both use the same network, it seemed a little concerning; the prices are low enough, so there must be issues be with customer service/billing/poor business practice.
I just wanted to make people aware of it so that they can decide for themselves with a little more caution.

13 Aug 17#34
uk.trustpilot.com/rev…com I'll think you'll find depending on where you look the ratings vary, as per the link, which is why I'm saying, don't just trust in what's written online, ask someone you know that uses the network or try it for a month or so (you only have to give them 30 days notice) and if you just based it on the ratings then there wouldn't be anyone using Vodafone or O2, based on trustpilot. Personally, I'd say ID have been great over the 2 years plus I've been using them and I would rather give my money to the smaller networks like ID or GiffGaff than the larger one's.

11 Aug 17#9
Good deal, but I think they should reduce the minimum cap you can set. When the lowest cap you can set makes the contract more than double the price it doesn't really make it kid friendly.
iDmobile to MoogleV
15 Aug 17#39
Hi MoogleV, our contracts are sold to customers over 18 years; we appreciate that some Parents may purchase them for children to use and, in this situation, we advise Parents to download the iD Mobile App to their own phone to monitor their usage.
The cap cannot be set to lower than £5, however, mobile data can be turned off at the handset which means no extra charges can be incurred.

Been with ID for over a year. Had some issues initially with the porting and registering to use their App however signal coverage has been good as it defaults to EE if no Three signal. I was on their £5 per month contract and switched over a month back when these new higher allowance tariffs came in. No problem switching, just one phone call.
Aldnoah to kevinyork
11 Aug 17#24
How did you find out it defaults to EE? I've just switched to ID from GiffGaff and ported my number no issues. Took less than a day. Had some issues with the 4G on the first day. Could only get 3G signal but it fixed itself. GiffGaff was charging £10 for 2GB 500/Unlimited. Now I'm on 4GB 1000/Unlimited (It's 5000 but cmon now...) for £9 with D-Rollover.

Also you can roll your unused data over into the next month. So use only 250mb one month and you'll have 750mb to use the next. No need to choose one over the other now!
