I've used redemption cashback deals for over 12 years and have never missed a claim, but they're not for everyone.

For just over £10pm I currently have a Vodafone Red Value Sim Only deal with:

• Unlimited minutes and texts
• 20GB data
• Unlimited European roaming + 4GB data
• Free 12 months Spotify Premium worth £10pm (Now TV Entertainment and Sky Sports Mobile also available)

Since I would pay for Spotify anyway, I essentially get all that data, mins, texts and roaming for FREE!

This deal is still available, so what's the catch? Well, I pay £22.20 line rental upfront and must claim the cashback from mobiles.co.uk in installments.

These redemption deals require you to submit a bill to the retailer 5 times over the duration of your contract - miss your 60-day claim window and you lose that payment. Automatic deals offer less cashback, but you don't need to claim.

Each claim should take less than 10 mins, so your 5 claims should total less than an hours work. This deal gives a £146 saving for less than an hour - if your boss offered you an hour of work for £146 would you remember to show up? Of course you would!

Unfortunately many forget to claim so put a reminder on your phone's calendar to make sure and you can make big savings.

• 12-month contracts require bill months 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12
• 24-month contracts require bill months 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18
• Pays by bank transfer within 14 days after 72 hours to process claims.

Mobiles.co.uk and e2Save (online brands of the Carphone Warehouse)

• Claims and bills required listed in the My Account section: Mobiles.co.uk, e2save
• Pays by cheque within 28 working days, up to 14 days to process claims.

These four websites allow you to upload your bill online within 60 days of its date. A small number of cashback deals come from retailers who may have different terms including requiring you submit your bill by post which is more complicated. You may get your claims rejected if you change or cancel your contract.
