Buy your steaks from your local butcher then. Ok, you'll pay a bit more but at least you'll get a decent steak without any additives. If you do have an issue, a local (independent) butcher will take you far more seriously than a customer services assistant at a large supermarket.

Works out at £11 a kg which is pretty cheap for rump. Any idea if they add liquid to their steaks? Fed up of getting supermarket meat that leaks out enough water to cover the whole of the pan, cooling it down and making it impossible to cook well.

i agree smurf you need to put your steak in the pan with rubber rings on it.its a joke and is happening more and more.

My butcher is sh*te.
Polish and Romanian imported chicken, 32% meat content sausages and the like.
Place looks good from the outside, but who knows where they source the other meats from.

It's true people always banging on about aldi lidl etc etc you get what you pay for.
And before you say different my dad worked over smithfield market for 30 yrs i know.
