Buy your steaks from your local butcher then. Ok, you'll pay a bit more but at least you'll get a decent steak without any additives. If you do have an issue, a local (independent) butcher will take you far more seriously than a customer services assistant at a large supermarket.

Works out at £11 a kg which is pretty cheap for rump. Any idea if they add liquid to their steaks? Fed up of getting supermarket meat that leaks out enough water to cover the whole of the pan, cooling it down and making it impossible to cook well.

It's true people always banging on about aldi lidl etc etc you get what you pay for.
And before you say different my dad worked over smithfield market for 30 yrs i know.

Ordered my pops a whacking great big t-bone from the butchers for Fathers day, can't beat a good ole slab of beef, yum.

Had some pretty good steaks from Aldi recently.... Sirloin best. Rib eye bit thin

Btw Wetherspoons steaks aren't bad either!

Mate, you should never, ever do that!! Have you never watched these tv programmes where they've gone undercover? Omg, the stuff some so called chefs will do to food sent back!! It makes my blood boil. Ok, of course I'm not saying this happens all the time, but, for me I would never, ever take that risk!! I'd sooner leave the meal, complain & get a bit of the rest of the food. But, that's just my opinion. My fella has found an amazing Asian supermarket who cut it to whatever size you want, each & every steak has been fabulous & great prices too. We've also been to meat wholesalers, (not too sure if they arrived alive at this place) but again great meat, great prices!!
