Best thing to do is... release MW REMASTERED as a stand alone game for £19.99. Sell a shed load, cancel next years game. Take a year out and then release a new non futuristic game in 2018

Overwatch is a new multiplayer only ip with a multi year development plan so having a free weekend periodically to entice new people is an obvious thing to do.
An huge established yearly IP like COD having 5 days free to play all games modes a month after release? That's unheard of.

PlayStation Plus is required for multiplayer and Zombies in Spaceland. Please note that the trial is the full game with restricted access, and you will need around 60 GB to download the full experience.
If you decide to purchase the full game, you will not need to download Infinite Warfare again. Availability for the Infinite Warfare trial will vary by territory. Please check your territory’s first party store for availability information.

Overwatch must be too then. It's not doing the best for COD but probably still sold loads compared to most releases.

nah...still out sold every other game this year I bet. Just the newest marketing ploy...overwatch has done it twice and still has a solid player count.

I like this game, I only paid £19.85 so maybe thats why i enjoy it more. It was frustrating at first because I was the noob in the game but picked it up easily enough in about 2 days. MP is fun and for the first time i am actually enjoying Zombies. I will get started on the campaign when i have finished the GTAV campaign.

Hmmm I'm tempted to try this now. GTA V was the last single player I completed, what a great game! Epic in every sense of the word.

Can't complain, seeing as its free. Still, seems to suggest that sales are really as bad as expected. The Steam player count is dwindling at least.

The game is just bland. The maps are lifeless and the character models are terrible looking. Its just boring and I only really play COD games.

Bit late to really learn from this year. Next years COD will have already been in development for over two years. That's the problem with annual releases of big games like this, if you mess up on one entry you can't really do good on it until several entries later.
That's why Ubisoft resorted to skipping out this year with Assassin's Creed, because whatever was planned for this year has been stripped back down again and built anew for next year. But given the short timeframe, I can't see even next years entry truly learning from the mistakes that led to the series decline. Gonna be at least AC 2018 before we see things truly change in order to renew interest and boost sales. Same goes for COD.

I think it may be Xbox One and PC too guys. It seems to be an Activision promo according to their Tweet 5 mins ago.
