I see you read the propaganda papers. Actually, you should be campaigning for the price increase on fuel in general. Petrol and Diesel are as bad as each other, neither being better than the other and it depends what benchmark you use to work out which is most dangerous. Just to give a snippet;
Carbon monoxide - Diesel performs better for lower emissions of this
Hydrocarbons - Diesel performs better for lower emissions of these
Nitrogen Oxides - Both fuel types are about as bad as each other here
Particulate matter - Diesels rule the roost for this (and it's particularly what the headlines are about)
Carbon dioxide - Petrol is slightly worse for this
* amusingly depending on who's report you read on the subject gives varying results and that's partly due to lobbying, individual agendas and so forth. However, all the reports I've ever seen certainly don't make diesel or petrol the king of the fuels, this is just an extract from one such report into the subject. I'm sure you can easily find a report that says diesel or petrol is the devils fuel and to use the other one.
As you can see neither is a slam dunk in terms of winning an "I'm better than you" race. Carbon monoxide is a greenhouse gas and highly poisonous, hydrocarbon are a cause of smog and linked to various illnesses, Nitrogen oxides are a key contributing factor to smog and acid rain, particulate matter causes smog and linked to various illnesses as well, carbon dioxide as we all know is a greenhouse gas. I'd safely say that neither option is ideal, but to blindly take what you read in the Daily Fail et al. as solid fact is a very bad line to take.

Stick with Morrisons, they made the price cut first. Tesco and Asda are just trying to jump on the bandwagon.

Asda are normally the first to start the drop. I've gone off Morrisons since they tried to add hoops to fuel offers.

Yeah.. cause i'm really going to travel an extra 10 miles if I want fuel for the same price if I can get it within 5 miles, clever thinking. You really haven't grasped the concept of HUKD where we try and save money

/facepalm /sigh
I will STICK with the closest company/station of the lot like any sane person looking to make their tank of fuel go the longest at the best price they can get.

Trouble with Morrisons is that they water it down, literally, my fuel trap warning comes on when I fill up there and my engine cuts out because water is detected in my fuel system, cost me £20 last time.

Funny how I filled up at Co-op LAST WEEK @.99.7p per liter when Morrisons were still selling at £1.03 then. :confused:
