I'm quite keen on trying out a Cougar but just for one night, can't commit to 2 years.

If your insurance is £2K a year for this car, it's because they see you as a higher risk, that could be because of your age or previous convictions if you have any. You don't have to drive this car though so you don't have to pay £2K. The insurance for me on this car is around £400 because I'm 45 and haven't got any recent motoring offences, and I own two cars, so have two insurance policies and a clean driving licence. It's all relative.

Hi. I've just noticed a better offer if your interested. 10k miles and lower initial payment::
I've got a car from these at the minute and had no issues.

Almost all of these deals will allow you to simply reduce or do away with the up front payment in return for a higher monthly rental of you prefer. The finance cost of that is also very very small in all the quotes I had, so could never see the point in paying anything up front.

Are they? I thought the reviews were pretty good?
They're not to my taste, but I can see why they're popular.

Why? - such a refreshing change from the typical German euro box, I'm not a 4x4 person but would have this in a beat, but need the extra seats in the Discovery Sport.....now someone please find a deal on one of those that amounts to more than £400 off the £45k list price!
