Have just installed 2 of these and saves swapping plugs around for different devices. Seems a really good price.

Current drawn is decided by device not socket.
The 2a is the maximum it can output, for devices such as iPads and tablets.
Good price. Glad to see these coming down in price.

You and your pal don't need one then... Jog on

Exactly. There will be a small but constant current draw for the 5v circuit, whether or not something is plugged in. Rather like having an appliance in standby.
Also, when the USB part packs in, it's hassle to change it.
My plug in Samsung chargers work just fine and can be switched off when not needed.

I`d just buy a USB 3-pin plug for a couple of quid, plug it in ANY socket in the house, job done. :smirk:

Dont buy cheaper ones , it will damage you phone battery also most of the phone needs 1A (these are 2A sockets)

There are good reasons to be wary when buying these sockets, your reason is not one of them as the sockets provides up to 2A and your phone (or tablet) will draw what is needed.

might sound silly but i thought 2 A mean it will charge quicker than 1A

Love my more expensive kitchen ones I've had for a year now. My circuit breaker is fitted for a reason and will protect me better than any man
