the black professional range have ball bearing drawers, decent gauge steel construction and a good thickness of paint/powder coat. Hardly "shoddy".

I know they're normally expensive, but £90 for an own brand shoddy metal box?

Let me guess you know of a superior product for the same price or less?

Most techs where I work have the halfords boxes and never seen one break etc. In my opinion these are quite good boxes and have a decent depth to the drawers. Each to there own though. I wouldn't really say these feel like shoddy metal boxes, there quite robust and sturdy. If you go for the cheaper boxes like sealy then I might agree to some degree.

Some of their storage boxes hold the professional tool kits (full trays). Would this hold them?

The top box holds my 200 piece kit .just need to trim the plastic locking bit on tool kit holder which just catches on the lid .

Dang - wish I could fit this into my van with the rest of the industrial set up I got for £100! Unless I take the wheels off I dont think it will go! Heat...

These boxes are really good. I got the £399 pack a month back with roll cab and top box and am well pleased. Well worth £90. I have a Snap On box which is getting on now but these halfords boxes hold their own imo.
