the black professional range have ball bearing drawers, decent gauge steel construction and a good thickness of paint/powder coat. Hardly "shoddy".

I know they're normally expensive, but £90 for an own brand shoddy metal box?

Let me guess you know of a superior product for the same price or less?

Most techs where I work have the halfords boxes and never seen one break etc. In my opinion these are quite good boxes and have a decent depth to the drawers. Each to there own though. I wouldn't really say these feel like shoddy metal boxes, there quite robust and sturdy. If you go for the cheaper boxes like sealy then I might agree to some degree.

Some of their storage boxes hold the professional tool kits (full trays). Would this hold them?

The top box holds my 200 piece kit .just need to trim the plastic locking bit on tool kit holder which just catches on the lid .

These boxes are really good. I got the £399 pack a month back with roll cab and top box and am well pleased. Well worth £90. I have a Snap On box which is getting on now but these halfords boxes hold their own imo.

you got the complete red industrial set (which only comes in black btw) for £90?
or
you bought the compete red professional set for about 200 quid (which they are on offer regularly)?

Lol.black only in industrial and they have never ever sell the lot for 90.
Why do people spout utter rubbish trying to spoil someone deal with clearly fictitious prices.

Unfortunately iam moving house and cabinets are in storage buried with everything else but trust me the 200 kit will fit in the top shelf of top box.even has a bit of room at side for extra socket runners.just cut the plastic catch off as it gets in the way of sitting flush.

They do the industrial stuff in a few colours now
I prefer them to Snap-On, just wish they did more sizes too!
Tried it with the trade card but it bumped the price up to £160
Was worth a try I suppose, still a good deal for £90 !!

I love the 360 degree zoom view on Halfords website, showing dings and ripples in the sheet metal where the Chinese slung them out of the factory.

The red 'professional' is much smaller and thinner gauge than the black 'industrial'.
There's no argument about qaulity difference or value for money. Industrial range trumps professional on everything but price.
I own both before anyone questions it.

There is a problem with the website/code - just spoke with customer services... If you order for collection and quote code in store they will apply it.

Unfortunately by the looks of it, the code must have been a long weekend jobby deal :/ still half price though !!
Opening post
Add on voucher code: B16WT03
Brings it down too £90!
I'm going to try using my halfords discount card as well when I go to pick it up, worth a try see what happens :)
