Course you can. But some people might be too self conscious to run in public, and others may have an injury that prevents them from running outside.

You could also argue you're less likely to get off the sofa and go to the gym. Hot from me.

Just not true.... It depends on the reason on why you are over weight. If you don't regularly exercise then your metabolism slows right down and therefore just by exercising you can loose a stone or two easily! It's also the most likely way of actually keeping it up as dieting does not work long term because it is too easy to get back in to old habits whereas exercising gives you more energy and a feel good factor that rewards your brain and makes you want to continue to exercise. So good on anyone of most fitness levels or physic for starting to exercise more all I can say is after the first 5-10 times of running and pushing yourself it does get easier but until then it feels worse every run as your body tells you that this bloody hurts and to stop! Don't let this beat you as its all in the mind, running 80% mental IMO so just push as hard as you can! Another word of advice try to run outside when you can as it keeps your mind occupied (try and find a nice quiet park or canal not on the road if your starting because of the idiots in cars who think it's funny to beep and hurl abuse!) and it's cooler and can be easier on the body. Voted hot as well as it seems a good price!

You're spot on.
I haven't lifted a finger but gone from 13.5 to 12.2 in twenty weeks just by changing my diet.
I have a running machine I use to store clothes on, a reebok type and it just looks like this, motorised, same build, everything.
It was £299.00 but I bought it reduced.
My point is that if this was originally worth £999.00 I'm Brad Pitt.

No, exercise is far more important. You could keep a healthy body while eating excessively if you increase your exercise accordingly.
Put simply, it's a case of burning off more calories than you take in.

You could join a gym for a a whole year and have access to a vast variety of equipment for the same price, if it's at home your less likely to put the effort in.
