EdX is quite respectable in the academic community, connecting to real top universities and courses taught by established professors in their fields, with the content FREE (although you may need to pay for a certificate of completion.
I highly recommend EdX, although FutureLearn is my favourite (www.futurelearn.com).
Opening post
free courses from top universities such as Harvard, MIT, Caltech, imperial college London etc.
huge range of subjects such as computer science, business, chemistry, social sciences languages, law, medicine, engineering etc.
this was submitted before but has now expired and the course choice has improved.
