"Valid Monday – Friday between 12pm and 11:59pm" ? Do we need a very precise backward-sending time-machine? Or is it 24 hours a day less one minute?

Makes perfect sense 12PM (Midday/Lunch) to 11:59PM (Closing time)

It does if you think that 12pm is noon. However PM stands for Post Meridiem which is Latin for 'after noon', so 12pm is twelve hours after noon! But I know that others may have different takes on that.

"By convention, 12 AM denotes midnight and 12 PM denotes noon. Because of the potential for confusion, it is advisable to use 12 noon and 12 midnight."
