AirRam is a new design of cordless vacuum cleaner, with mains vacuum performance. Change the way you clean your home forever. It is faster, easier and more convenient. It is ideal for use on both carpet and hard-floors, and you can glide from one to the other with no settings to change. The AirRam's powerful rotating brush bars also make it ideal for pet hair.
Cleans the average UK home twice on a single charge.
Up to 40 minutes run-time from Lithium-ion technology.
Lightweight 3.5kg.
Unlike other vacuums, AirRam collects the dirt in the head of the vacuum, compressing it into small bales. A removable tray simply lifts out allowing you to drop the dirt straight into the bin.

I'm still very dubious about these. The marketing seems very much like hype. The TV adverts for the old version, this model, made out they were the most amazing, super dooper, best cleaner there had ever been, etc, etc. If they were that bloomin brilliant why does the new model look like a complete redesign?

LOL, it's new and improved! The original Dyson was supposed to be the answer to everyone's prayers, just look at the current monstrosities compared to the simplicity of the original.

Original Dyson's are very cumbersome and heavy though.

Kind of the point, always room for improvement (actually better), marketing opportunity (colour or number of bobbles on top) or make it cheaper to produce whilst upping the price (any Apple product).

So I have one as do my brother and mother and they are great although it does have a couple of Achilles heals. The battery lasts for ages, its very lightweight and what it collects off your floors is quite impressive. The problems the mk1 faces is anything that can jam it e.g. carrier bag may burns out a little plastic cog that drives the rollers. It does have a feature to detect this and shut the power off but it doesn't always work and its broken before you can reach for the power button itself. You can get a new cog for about £10 and it can be tricky to fit or a complete cog/shaft/bearings for about £20 iirc. The second problem is hair which gets wrapped around the brush roll and if not removed will melt the plastic around the bearings at each end cap or in the centre where the motor drives are.
I'm not sure if the mk2 has overcome these issues but its moved the battery from the handle in the mk1 to the base so that the top of the handle can slide collapse into the lower part of it for ease of storage. They have also improved the dust collection bin to make it more hygienic to empty.

Yip and it turns out there's an even better washing machine liquid out! It's better than all the other incarnations! Seems we've been using inferior products for years, who new?
