Super smooth streaming, 60fps 4K decoding
A powerful video decoder is like having a high performance processor. Mi Box can handle up to 60 frames per second - that's double what other set-top boxes can do. It's an advantage you'll notice naturally when you watch NBA live or play a racing game.

One of a very select band of Android boxes with an official Netflix 4K licence certification.

I don't see the point. Pay an extra £20 for an Amazon Fire TV 4K. More stable, more content, next delay delivery, no customs, great warranty.

I've got the fire TV 4k but it struggles with 4k content, no idea what the mi box is like tho

The point being, you're not tied to Amazon's... rubbish customisation of Android. You get a pure Android TV experience, complete with play store. No sideloading, no downloading .APK files.
Being honest, I owned a Fire Box for a short period before sending it back.

I have to agree there. I’ve never got on with the Fire OS (Don’t have prime so the constant Amazon promo did my nut in). A more pure OS with the Amazon content not taking centre stage would be excellent though.

You might want to amend the, "it runs on the latest Android..." as it most definitely doesn't!

I need something to play 4k content from USB, anyone know if this or the Amazon Fire 4k is a better bet?
And will either of them support a USB hub?
Thanks

These are okay, but no iPlayer, ITV hub, 4 on demand, 5, uk tv play etc. Can cast it from your phone, but not ideal

why can't you get the apps?

Android TV play store doesn't have them. Don't assume that if you can download them on your phone, you can download them on your android TV device because you can't. I found out the hard way

It has access to the play store so it should be fine...

All the apps you mention do play on it but you have to sideload them as they are not available in the Android Tv version of Playstore on this box. They are easy to install from aptoide though.

Just install terrarium tv. I've watched stuff on there on the same day before it was available on demand on the official apps

Also no Amazon video on this. You can sideload some version. But it's very buggy. Geekbuying is not the best of companies to buy from.

decent price but my next media box needs to have an ethernet port.. just wish the shield tvs would come down in price

Why not just get a USB to Ethernet?

that would be fine if there was 2 usb ports but id prefer to keep one port (free) for attaching a usb pen drive or usb hard drive.. unless this would work with one of those usb to multiple usb and ethernet jobbies?

I would imagine so, try a powered USB hub. Google is your friend
Indeed.

Had the same reservation at first, got the UGREEN usb to ethernet adapter from amazon, works a treat.
Also if you have AC wireless, some test reports you get faster network data transfer over wifi than on ethernet.
