I signed up with this thieving company last August, 10 weeks later I received notification of an increase. 3 months later another increase, to cap it all I then receive a questionaire asking how much increase I would find acceptable. I replied with a suitable answer and then last week received another notification of yet another increase. Started off at £38 last August, it is now £53. I have been with this company and previous owners, NTL,NYNEX,CABLE & WIRELESS for 26 years, paid by direct debit , never missed a single payment and had only one service call. So much for a valued customer.... not worth tuppence.

Every time you get an increase letter you have a month to phone up and leave. I always use to like received them so I could shop around for better prices. Everytime I've phoned up to complain they have always credited my account the difference.

Do you have to phone up and state your leaving or can you just join up with a new provided (like you normally would with any switchover) within the 30 day window and have them take care of it and not get charged any leaving fees?

No loyalty this days. Only way to beat them is keep switching every year. All the major providers care about is new customers. Was with VM for 20 year when they were Videotron but no loyalty discount. Only when I went to cancel, they tried to offer me a better deal. But too late.

When they send a price increase, you have e a right to cancel your contract within 30days of notification. with my price increase it went from £47 to £28 after I canceled and got a retentions call!

Just left them because of continuous price increases and their “100mb broadband speed” only ever reaching 20mb at most. 7 month’s to look at a known fault on their broadband fibre with no guarantee the speed would ever reach 100mb. Absolutely appalling customer service lately.

Couldn't agree more. Currently pay for 70meg and get about 5. Waiting on a response from them following a complaint to their MD. Just like their internet, their customer service is slow...

I'm leaving for similar reasons although I did get more than 20mb. They were scaremongering saying BT fibre only reaches 3mb...naff off.

I've had similar problems since day one. TV and phone fine but broadband is very unreliable. Very slow never been anywhere near 50mb . Can stream any programmes if a computer is running. It also drops out 2or 3 times a week with no connection at all. Had them round several times with no improvement. Given up now. Contract ends in two months so will be looking for another provider. So much for superfast fibre.

Left them to move to Sky 12 months ago and looking to go back to try out their new V6 box. Hopefully I'll qualify.

Same situation here. I'm happy with Sky but price is set to rocker and they are not interested in offering me a decent deal to stay. They will get 1 more chance later today or I'm taking this deal.

I have got the new v6 box and 200mb broadband and if you don’t mind constantly rebooting it and on demand freezing a lot you will be fine

V6 box is screwed when V BB goes down, idiot decision to make catch up etc and epg go via V BB, litterally they could have sold VirginTV/V6 services to anybody over any broadband if they wanted. Other than that a good box.
are you Ethernet or Wi-fi ? Wi-fi causes the issues, never had a issue once with Ethernet, if it still happens they will give you a new V6

I'm sure my internet is disconnecting since I got virgin but they can't find any errors. My sonos system keeps losing its connection! It's quite annoying...

Same problems i get with 5ghz, if i go on 2.4ghz its miles better but cant wait for it to be turned off in 2 weeks.

Usually t'other way round. 2.4GHz is congested in most areas whereas 5GHz is a lot less susceptible as there are more channels available to use.
Saying that, 2.4GHz propagates better through obstacles than 5GHz so it might just be that you need to relocate the router or add an additional access point to increase coverage and throughput.

Seems this only comes with the tivo 500, the v6 box looks to be an extra £50 upfront?
