Sub £200 for a Xiaomi robot vacuum (I need one of these), knocks a further £15 off previous price from Gearbest (part of the same group). Has great reviews and includes 2.5 hours of cleaning on a single charge, can switch it on remotely via app.

Xiaomi's smart home ecosystem has a new addition today! The Mi Robot Vacuum is a highly intelligent home cleaning device with 12 different sensors.

The three processors track its movements in real-time, and the Simultaneous Localization and Mapping ( SLAM ) algorithm calculates the most efficient route for cleaning.
Using the Mi Home app, you can switch on and remotely control the robot, change cleaning modes and set schedules,
Additionally, a powerful Nidec brushless DC motor, a main brush with adjustable height and a 5200mAh Li-ion battery for up to 2.5 hours of cleaning

It's bloody always like that. You wait and wait and wait and price is not going down. You order something and then it's cheaper 10%

Nice for hard floors as most Chinese homes do - whom Xiaomi designed it for. Just don't expect it to work on any carpets with reasonably thick/long pile. It also won't climb from hard floors onto rugs with long pile either.
Otherwise, they're quite nice. Novelty value is quite long-lasting.

To be fair though my Roomba at nearly double the price is the same. It gets stuck on long pile. The Roomba battery life isn't as good as good either. For the price is buy this over Roomba any day.

I agree
Our Neato was £270 and is a lot more basic than this. A Neato with this sort of functionality is around £500.
Plus i'm a Xiaomi convert now having bought a Mi Mix

If you are that lazy pay a cleaner.

And 3 months later you'll have spent more on the cleaner than the cost of this hoover

Yep but a cleaner is tax deductible

We do both. We've a Neato Robot Vacuum cleaner that goes on nightly then the cleaner comes in weekly.

You can’t pay a cleaner a one of fee of £200 to clean for a few years 5-10, and only paying the cleaner by charging them with electricity.
Is probably the only disadvantage

You can't have sex with your hoover either, well technically you probably could but wouldn't be the same.
