Been trying to decide about this since day one but for this price this weekend it's a done deal
I get that the whole weekend sale is a good deal but this is one of the highest percentage discounts and one of the games that splits most opinions - so if you weren't sure, like me, this is a good price to check it out at (like me!)

I'm not sure on this. It got slated at release but I hear it's quite good now.

not just good, very very good. My favourite game of this and last year, I think its still a love it or hate it game, but the way its been supported by the developers its more than worth a tenner. Give it a go you'll get your moneys worth even if you quit once the stories complete.
The devs have pledged to carry on adding content and supporting it.

This was a dire hateful game on version 1.0 release. It's now a game with 1.3. Anyone coming to it now on 1.3 will get a reasonable experience from it. It absolutely sucked large dangly ballls on initial release though, I hadn't seen such a bad game for years.

It was never as bad as the troll attacks made out, I enjoyed it from day one but then I didn't listen to the press hype. The devs have really worked wonders squashing bugs and adding new features and story lines. They are also getting really good at responding to the community - for example recent changes to the flight controls didn't suit a lot of people, in response the devs took the communities suggestion and added a toggle to use the old system.

It’s a good game now following all the updates and well worth it at this price. J

Worth a punt at under a tenner I say, it's good but maybe a bit marmite for some. Latest updates have far improved it however. Who knows, you may end up loving it?

This is easy OP, the game was absolutely dire on initial release, the updates now have started to make it in to a game, just like a Skoda badge, the reputation is terrible even though the product is now not too bad at all.
The massive weakness in this game is the procedural generation of each planet, which was touted as being the selling factor. This in my opinion makes the game totally unrealistic, every single planet you go to has the same setup on, the same way of doing things, the procedural generation really just clones the gameplay to a massive amount of worlds. Essentially once you've played to death one planet, there's not much reason to go to another. This was the problem with the early releases. Version 1.3 at least ramped things up a lot with the gameplay and there's rumour of a 1.4 release.
