Been trying to decide about this since day one but for this price this weekend it's a done deal
I get that the whole weekend sale is a good deal but this is one of the highest percentage discounts and one of the games that splits most opinions - so if you weren't sure, like me, this is a good price to check it out at (like me!)

Its an excellent game and one I have owned and played more than any other. I keep going back to this to play and it can really keep you engrosed for hours and days and weeks and months

Great deal. It had a ropey start, but the game is now worth every penny, especially at this price.

I have dusted off my copy and updated it. Will give it another go. Looked on YouTube as it now has some multiplayer involvement and hopefully can visit planets and interact with others. I do hope the developers keep improving it. A few things they could do is make it more challenging. The alien creatures are far too nice with similar AI and would expect a bit of 'alien' fear factor to rough it up a bit. Also throw in a bit of extreme weather where you could get hurt from being subjected to wind storms. There is huge potential in this game in so many aspects but will have to see how far they push development. It is very much an exploration simulator and not so much a game. Great for some sci-fi fans and actually interesting/therapeutic to visit new planets. Just needs a bit more challenge and multiplayer support. I'm hoping you can eventually fight others in multiplayer and join alliances. A lot of potential but not sure if they will eventually deliver in this game. Worth a tenner to see what updates bring

I won't be buying because I've got too many games as it is. You can't go far wrong for under a tenner though if it tickles your fancy.

I'm not sure on this. It got slated at release but I hear it's quite good now.

Honestly it’d be worth £30 now never mind a tenner

Every planet seemed to be purple, which is really hard to engage with. They could have just bent the truth a little and made every planet visually a bit more like Earth.

not just good, very very good. My favourite game of this and last year, I think its still a love it or hate it game, but the way its been supported by the developers its more than worth a tenner. Give it a go you'll get your moneys worth even if you quit once the stories complete.
The devs have pledged to carry on adding content and supporting it.

This was a dire hateful game on version 1.0 release. It's now a game with 1.3. Anyone coming to it now on 1.3 will get a reasonable experience from it. It absolutely sucked large dangly ballls on initial release though, I hadn't seen such a bad game for years.

Got this for my birthday on release and I have only played it for an hour , need to find the time to give it another go, I can say there has been constant updates over the year as I have had it installed since release and keep getting bombarded with updates

I spent about an hour playing this game. Wandered around a barren empty landscape and looked at some rocks. I started to feel suicidal so I put the controller down and never played it again.

Even at that price the game is a risk because it is total Marmite.
I hated it when I bought it on Steam at full price for the PC and then it got all the updates and I started it again and I still didn't like it and I am very much a grindfest type player.
It just doesn't have it for me I'm afraid.

It's vastly improved and definitely worth a punt at this price

Re the game, have some heat OP, yet to pick up myself

How the hell has this got heat! I thought everyone loved to hate this game? it's actually pretty good.. far from perfect but at least they've committed to fixing all the things that were wrong at launch I paid a 5er for it expecting the worse and was very surprised! since the new updates nows the time people.. heated.

This is easy OP, the game was absolutely dire on initial release, the updates now have started to make it in to a game, just like a Skoda badge, the reputation is terrible even though the product is now not too bad at all.
The massive weakness in this game is the procedural generation of each planet, which was touted as being the selling factor. This in my opinion makes the game totally unrealistic, every single planet you go to has the same setup on, the same way of doing things, the procedural generation really just clones the gameplay to a massive amount of worlds. Essentially once you've played to death one planet, there's not much reason to go to another. This was the problem with the early releases. Version 1.3 at least ramped things up a lot with the gameplay and there's rumour of a 1.4 release.

Worth a punt at under a tenner I say, it's good but maybe a bit marmite for some. Latest updates have far improved it however. Who knows, you may end up loving it?

It was never as bad as the troll attacks made out, I enjoyed it from day one but then I didn't listen to the press hype. The devs have really worked wonders squashing bugs and adding new features and story lines. They are also getting really good at responding to the community - for example recent changes to the flight controls didn't suit a lot of people, in response the devs took the communities suggestion and added a toggle to use the old system.
