Keep in mind no speakers with this. I know it's a gaming monitor but I want something for both productivity and casual gaming I was close to hitting the buy button but I don't want to clog my room up more for speakers.

I made the leap from a 27" 16:9 1440 monitor to an ultrawide 34" 1440 monitor and wouldn't look back. I've not seen ultrawide at 1080 but I reckon I'd still prefer it over 16:9 1440. The change from 16:9 to ultrawide felt like a proper upgrade. The extra width definitely adds to the immersion. From what I've read this is the best 1080 ultrawide to get, and also one of the cheapest. Tftcentral have a really in depth review of it here: tftcentral.co.uk/rev…htm

Sell me your 1440? :stuck_out_tongue: they are all over my budget!

I've only had it a month and there wouldn't be anything to upgrade to :stuck_out_tongue: . I'm not going back to 16:9 now!

That's a horrible resolution for the size. 34" and only 1080 vertical pixels? It'd be like looking through a letterbox. I have a 25" 2560x1440 monitor that I think is the perfect density for gaming + text. 34" 2560x1080? And curved for a cheap way to push up the price without delivering any extra value? No thanks.

Wouldn't say it's horrible. The vertical height of this 34 inch ultrawide is equivalent to that of a 27 inch 16:9 monitor, which means the vertical pixel density is equivalent to a 27 inch 1080p monitor. Given that a lot of people who buy a monitor this size are likely to sit a little further back (as it would make little sense sitting close with such a large screen), it's likely that the resolution will be just fine.

Is it really a ultrawide monitor 1080p thread without someone posting something like this?

Curved ultrawides are over hyped. You can get much better monitors for this price tag. 4K always wins over ultrawide. COLD IMHO
