I had the P10 Lite for a while but returned it. Had some lag issues, battery standby drain and also touch screen problems where often a swipe would act as a touch

Funny you mention that - I had similar on a P9, it seems to be a bit of an issue along with phantom touch on Huawei phones. The place where they are let down is support, it's terrible compared to the other big companies.

Found the same with the P8 Lite 2017 too. Bought it for the wife as a replacement for her Moto X Play but after two weeks use, she is not able to live with the lag - and they don't work with Fitbits either (though that's Fitbits fault really) which was also a deal breaker. We gave it a chance, but waiting 5 seconds for it to fill in a text message after you typed some characters is just useless.

The P9 is a absolutely amazing phone with imo one of the best cameras I've seen (Leica Lens simply amazing), wish it wasn't £300 though as I bought my Xperia X for nearly half that price..

I've used the p6, p7, p8, honor 7 and am typing this on the P10 Plus, I have always seen Huawei as a half decent brand. They're right up there with LG (maybe not there with Sony and Samsung just yet) in terms of Android handsets and in my personal opinion, my favourite Android phones.
I came from an iPhone 7 to the P10 Plus and am preferring this in all honesty! Looking forward to see what they do next.

I’ve got the P9 Lite and it’s a fantastic phone for the money (paid £130). More than enough speed, incredibly smooth, lovely display. The only negative is Huawei said it would get Nougat in March but it still hasn’t arrived!

Might be more down to your supplier, is it EE? I believe Vodaphone are on 7 or if you unlock the bootloader you can get nougat from Huawei which is a bit extreme as it invalidate s the warranty. That's what I ended up doing.
Andy.Vanek to leelukehope
22 Sep 17#24
I had the same problem with my P9 Lite. But last night I updated to Nougat finally!!! Use app called Firmware Finder. All it does is that it will help your phone find the update, so it will show up in the official updater - this will not void the warranty. More details here forum.xda-developers.com/hua…072 (it looks complicated but it isn't! take 2-3 minutes)

Beware, it may brick your phone if it has an O2-branded firmware.
If you can wait 1-2 weeks, O2 are finally releasing their own - from Kris_K at the O2 forums: community.o2.co.uk/t5/…/12
"I've got some good news from our device team, folks!
We've now approved the Nougat update for the Huawei P9 and P9 Lite and have sent this back to Huawei for schedule/release - typically this happens within 1-2 weeks, but sometimes sooner/later, so keep your eyes peeled and you'll hopefully have this soon.
P9 Plus customers, no new updates to share just yet - we're awaiting the new software to begin testing but once we've more details to share, we'll let you know."
On the next page, cornetuk says:
"Yay! Update is now available via OTA. I'll go for it tonight [that's tonight]."

Be careful.I messed mine up 2 weeks ago on My P9 as fed up waiting for official update to be released.Mine got stuck on a very early android release.I sold it to Cex for £110 and got the Blue P10 plus from cpw before they hiked up the price.Loving the P10 Plus.I did have a few bugs in The P9 lite and P9, the green camera photos, known issue and also no notifications in threaded messages but so far no such issues in the P10 plus and battery life is great. Also official cases on amazon are less than £10

Voted hot from my P10 lite.
Really enjoying mine, I've only ever had flagships til now (HTC Hero, Galaxy S2, HTC One, Nexus 6) but this has more than enough oomph for me, and is a good size/screen ratio and lovely to hold in the hand. I do wonder how it will be for software updates and there isn't a developer scene for custom ROMs, but it should get Android Oreo (eventually).

Using a Sony x Compact with a 2600mah, and if you use things like greenify and adblockers, it gets me through the day, so depends on what sort of user you are and how to combat the issue

If you got the iPhone 8, 3000mAh is a lot.
Apple 'upgrades' their battery by putting a smaller capacity 1821mAh from 1,960mAh of the iPhone 7
Battery life is where Apple needs to catch up in comparison to Android phones
ZeroEx to shootomanUK
22 Sep 17#53
Did you know battery life depends mainly on how good the phone processor is then the battery size? A 2000mAh battery with a top end processor will last longer then a 3000mAh battery with a low end processor

Save to Card to get a 3% statement credit on purchases in-store and online at Carphone Warehouse by 16/10/2017. Valid every time for the first 8,000 Cardmembers to save. Terms, payment and location restrictions apply.
So I guess £16 off if both pay-out and you order through CW.
Still undecided myself. Had an LG G5 for a while and loved the wide angle lens. Fancy the LG G6 but still too dear for an LG. Currently using a Moto G4, which isn't bad, whilst I wait. The LG G7 will prob be out by the time I decide and then i'll want that one.

I bought this phone about a month ago for £250. Its really fast, can't fault its performance.
One I will say about it though, the glass on the screen is soft as sh*t. I've owned a fair few phones. It marked on the face after a week, I aways clean out my pockets & it still marked up. My old Nexus that was 14months old, I didn't take care of it & it looks better than the P10 lite after a month.
I also bought a Honor 8 pro, lovely device but that skuffed up the same.
Check out the Honor (Huawei) 6X bend test on YouTube & you'll see the scratch test on their screens.

Doesn't look anything special to me. Mid range Kirin CPU (it certainly isn't a Snapdragon!), only 32Gb storage, no dual camera set up, and support over at XDA is pretty poor. I suppose it depends on what you really want in a phone - for me, support over at XDA is up there near the top of the list on the basis that most manufacturers are lame at rolling out updates.
tonyspoons to lmulli
22 Sep 17#34
It's as good as the midrange Snapdragons and better than the 43x Snapdragons. It has a micro SD slot. Show me a decent dual camera setup for £200? Reviews rate the camera (and phone) quite well for the price.
I will however give you the lack of XDA activity for the P10 lite, bit of a sticking point for me, but I'm pretty happy with the stock firmware (nougat) + Nova launcher at the moment.

Those considering it - go for it. I have a Mate 9, 128gb, 6gb Ram. Huawei are delivering amazing things - stellar battery life, fantastic camera functionality, really good user interface. Would this be any sort of upgrade on a Samsung galaxy S5 in reality? I'm getting frustrated with the limited 16gb internal memory on my S5 so the 32gb does appeal. I've done a comparison of stats and on paper it doesn't look much of an upgrade otherwise (some bits better, some bits worse). Wondering if the reality is any different. Not really looking to spend megabucks on a new phone so somewhat tempted here.
Thanks!

Yes of course its not just the cpu, you have to also take other components into consideration, like screen size, resolution e.t.c
Still with newer phones coming out all the time with batteries sometimes twice the capacity of this one I still would say its mediocre capacity.
