The GEN10 in the chart is a different CPU to this one in the Deal, probably a more expensive model.

It supports 4 3.5" drives in the drive bay. If you want to use an SSD you can fit one in the optical drive bay and use SATA port 5, but you'll need to buy the conversion kit or jury rig your own solution.
reading the threads regarding this i dont think itll be worth changing, the case does look sleek though but the chip is soldered on and DDR4 ECC is super expensive plus theres not much elsse thats good, extra PCie slot i guess. happy with my gen8 to be delivered soon thankfully.

No iLo and soldered CPU, might as well go Gen8 - They seem to have targeted this one at home / media use (I certainly don't need 3 display ports on my server!) which is a shame

The N54L was soldered on, it was an awesome machine.

Can't believe they dropped iLo on these servers, such a convenient tool and one of my favourite features of a HP server.
Oh well will just have to buy a DL380 and see if I can adapt the server cab to fit in the bedroom wardrobe :unamused: :joy:

I'm still running the N36L. It's on 24/7, running synology and doesn't miss a beat. I note that all other microservers have a higher TDP and so I'm likely saving a bit each year in energy.

Does anyone know if the Performance Edition is substantially better or is it over priced for what it is? ebuyer.com/796585

You can get a free temp license for 2 months from the HP site, you can then re-use the same one again and again by just doing a factory reset on the iLo which only takes about 5 minutes to do. The only real config you lose when doing the reset is iLo user accounts you set up. But the main admin account is always there.
If you're lucky and know someone who has paid for an iLo license or have access to a corporate server you can re-use their one. :innocent:

how many drives can this fit , more than 4?
most notably it seems:
gen10 vs gen8
no ILO on gen 10
amd chip
Think some beta testers in the US managed to slot an SSD or two on the side of the case or in the optical bay area.
This forum should have some comparison test results:
