It's worth checking / registering with the original manufacturers anyway. Sometimes a recall is recalled, and a few year ago there were loads of airbags recalled. The site will tell you of them, but not if your car went for the recall, so you'd have to check anyway.

Asked my local Mercedes garage if my car was affected by the 'risk of fire' by dodgy high pressures fuel lines and they didn't have a clue

Yes some of the supposedly finest cars have the worst possible dealers {after buying your car that is}

A good one for Fords is ETIS. You can enter your registration or VIN and it will tell you if there are any outstanding recalls or updates. etis.ford.com

Unfortunately not, I run a fleet of Ford vans so that's how I know this one.

Nevermind, our work vans are Vauxhall Vivaro 1.6 diesels...... restricted to 68mph & trackered !!!! Oh the joys !!! Zero speed & Zero freedom :joy:

We limit to 70 so a little more freedom than you're used to, but still track them! Can't have engineers driving at breakneck speeds to help customers can we!?!

Found out about a part being covered under an extended warranty using ford etis. The franchised dealer had conveniently not mentioned it and were proposing to charge 600 quid to replace it.

My Hyundai i800 doesn't even appear on the list. But if anyone on this site has one and hasn't had the rear heater pipes swapped for modified alloy ones then take it back to the dealer. Mine were swapped under warranty a year ago but have now been done again as Hyundai are aware there was an issue with the original design. So different to Vauxhall who don't acknowledge issues with wiper pattern on Zafira A (a mod kit is available at huge cost) or rear door electrics on any model in the last 30 years. Recalls are only done if forced, not Just because they know there's an issue.

Well, we have a recall letter from Nissan and we booked for an appointment in Romford dealership. On that very day, when my son had to drive the car up to this part of the world, we had a phone call, asking us if we would like to sell our car. I said no. Then we were told that WE DIDN'T NEED TO BOTHER to go fo the appointment as the parts were not there!
How nasty was that??? Can you hear me, Romford Nissan?
