Can quite safely say without fear of contraception, no difference at all. Either way you cannot buy the bits to build it cheaper

Looks like the V1 to me. So acrylic H frame for the heat bed and 3D printed X axis holders. Likely the older motherboard too which has worse QA.
I got my A8 from Gearbest - if you select the standard delivery option it'll come within 2 weeks via Yodel (And likely no customs charges - like everything from Gearbest I've got with Yodel delivery).

A package this size is going to get hit by HMRC plus handling charges.

Which still makes it cheaper than Amazon.

But Amazon is easy to deal with if something goes wrong. Next day delivery instead of weeks.

It's just bits and pieces though.
Either way get it from the eBay link I posted for cheaper.

Been looking at these for a long time but never bought one because I’ve heard bad things about them, are they actually worth the investment?

No

They take some work and a bit more spent on upgrades (GT2 belts, glass bed) but produce great prints for the money and I enjoyed the build process.
