No they don't allow tethering. I briefly signed up to a similar deal with VM a few months ago but cancelled after I found out about tethering.

Fairly easy to identify who's tethering.

I was warned by O2 a good few years ago about tethering. I pleaded ignorance but the guy just laughed and told me they can tell from their end.
Interesting to know that Virgin doesn't monitor this for you but what would happen if they suddenly called you and told you to stop. You'd still be tied into their contract and couldn't move to another supplier until your contract ended. And you couldn't complain because it's in the T&C's not to tether.

Did the exact same thing, much happier with Virgin! 1 drawback only, international calls are a lot more expensive. I keep a GG sim around just in case, or use whatsapp to call

I've been with virgin and never any problems with customer care. My last day of my 2 year iPhone / contract deal is actually today, I called a few weeks ago and they just hold me to go online as of tomorrow to pick a new tariff. Usually I'd be hounded with sales calls and at least a leaflet but nada this time. Suits me!
