OP has apparently used Revolut, a paypal-type system that you deposit money in and can use a virtual card to buy things, usually from different regions that don't accept your normal credit/debit card.
I'm curious as I've not got Revolut to work with either the Mexican, Japanese nor Canadian Switch eshops.

Can I just use my normal debit card on the Russian eShop to make this work? Or do I need to use this Revolut app?

I used my normal Visa to buy Splatoon 2 from the SA Eshop and got charged £1.00 conversion charge. So with debit you'd pay around £10
-It runs in English, and the software title on the home screen is also in English -Did not need to use Revolut, Visa debit worked fine (although i'm sure standard currency conversion fees will apply)
