Typical, bought this last night. No regrets though, great game and fun to play, well worth it for this price.

Hi ) Yes you can change a Nintendo account region as many times as you like. I use my main account so all my games are tied to that. Revolut is a virtual card with very close to flat exchange rates which you top up before using, there are others such as Monzo. When I set up Revolut I downloaded the app, then I had to top it up 2 or 3 times from my debit card for it to authenticate me. Then you get a virtual card to use. You can check exchange rates on the app )
*worth checking first what your normal debit/credit card charges for a foreign transaction fee, as it may just be 2 or 3 %. Some though charge an amount on top i.e. £1.50 moneysavingexpert.com/tra…ges

So they don't have to make a russian account, so they don't have to link that account to their switch, so they dont have to keep the russian account on their switch, so their switch news feed doesn't get filled with russian news stories.
Why bother when you can just change region, buy, change back, login on NNID. Done. Game downloads it's self and you play. No making a new account and having the purchase tied to a different account. No russian news filling news feed. No extra steps in making a new account.

I did it all on the web. You can change region, buy the game, change region back and then when you go back into the UK shop (on PC), it will say you already own the game. So I have ordered and paid but won't download it on my Switch until later. Sure it won't be an issue since my account in UK says I've got the game.
jco83
15 Aug 17#62
Were you doing it all on the web? I haven't relinked my nnid since changing region for the first time (many weeks ago) without any issue. But I've never changed region before the game has downloaded
Ferrit
15 Aug 17#61
It's literally a 5 minute job, if that.
1. Login and change region 2. Buy game 3. Change region back 4. Relink any accounts
The game will show on your account regardless of region, so once the purchase is complete you play the game the same way as any digital game bought from the UK store.

This is a really good deal. I suspect Nintendo will increase the price on the Russian EShop when they see how many sales are coming from there. I just did it all from my PC. Just change account location setting to Russia, go to the e-shop and order it (Google will even translate the page), then change the account back to UK and re-link your NNID again. Then to check go on the UK e-shop and it will say you already have access to play this game (rather than a price appearing). At that point you are good to go. I used a credit card, transaction fees are typically around 2-4% I believe so on a purchase like this you'll only end up paying less than say £9.50 I think.

First thing I noticed is as default it has a slight blur effect filter, looks better if you turn it off in options. Also sfx is a bit loud and constant blooop blooop from jumping might get annoying, plus the music is awesome so turn sfx down and hear these wicked tunes. there's 2 other filters than give a crt horizontal line effect too but I think it's best with none. Seriously though, I'm happy to have spent a bit more if it makes it obvious to Sega that there is still a demand for this sort of game. If it was £30+ I'd then be more inclined to look for cheaper prices.

Please go back and make sure that the page displayed is set to the same country as that of your Nintendo Account, then try making the purchase again.' Oddly enough at the bottom of the error page it says Nintendo Germany. Anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?
Interesting to know for any future digital games though!
It appears Mastercards exchange rate is slightly favourable in this instance as Visa currently exchanges 699.00 Russian Ruble = 9.06 Pound Sterling :face_with_monocle:
1. Login and change region
2. Buy game
3. Change region back
4. Relink any accounts
The game will show on your account regardless of region, so once the purchase is complete you play the game the same way as any digital game bought from the UK store.
Loads of times on Xbox.
Have you used Revolut before ?
Niccce
First thing I noticed is as default it has a slight blur effect filter, looks better if you turn it off in options. Also sfx is a bit loud and constant blooop blooop from jumping might get annoying, plus the music is awesome so turn sfx down and hear these wicked tunes. there's 2 other filters than give a crt horizontal line effect too but I think it's best with none.
The wicked total rad awesome cool remix music yo is well bad, you'll love it and awaken some Mega Drive memories
EDIT: Yep, it works fine! You'll have to navigate the eshop is Russian though so it's a good idea to run through in English first so you know what you're pressing!
Sounds a real dumb question lol
go to your nintendo account.
Change region and save
Either on your web browser ( russia nintendo eshop ) or on the switch itself. Buy the game
Swap back to english
Game downloads in seconds as its small.
Great game, me and my son love it
Just used my credit card which doesnt charge fees, easy peasy
Change my region on my account to russia, then changed it back again and relinked NID. I dont keep credit on my nintendo account so not a problem for me.
Thanks OP
-It runs in English, and the software title on the home screen is also in English
-Did not need to use Revolut, Visa debit worked fine (although i'm sure standard currency conversion fees will apply)
Good find op.
Here is the visa exchange calculator visaeurope.com/mak…tes (MasterCard probably have their own)
And you'll need to know your cards foreign exchange fee moneysavingexpert.com/tra…ges
Is there a way to delete the Russian account from the Switch but keeping access to the game? A minor annoyance, but hey ho.
DOH, looks like I should just have changed the region instead of setting up a separate account?!
edit: actually I knew there was a reason to set up different accounts - you lose any balance you might have if you change regions on your main account, no thanks.
edit again: ah, it's fine, I just changed the region online back to UK, I'll just play swapsies with this account, some stuff on the Norway eshop I'm after too.
Seriously though, I'm happy to have spent a bit more if it makes it obvious to Sega that there is still a demand for this sort of game. If it was £30+ I'd then be more inclined to look for cheaper prices.
I know, cool story bro!
Still loving this game. Finally Sonic is back!!!
Just checked on nintendolife and there are some rumours about there being a physical release but they are just that, rumours unfortunately.
I'm curious as I've not got Revolut to work with either the Mexican, Japanese nor Canadian Switch eshops.
