Spotted this and thought it was a great offer if you have an older car and want rid, but don't want to pay for listing or you are unsure of it's worth.
You can get started in 3 easy steps:
1. Enter your reg and the cars mileage
2. Price your car at £1000 or less
3. List your advert for free!
T's & C's: excluding N.Ireland. Only cars valued at £1000 and below can take advantage of the free listing. Full standard T's & C's also apply
Whoops, didn't see the car in the picture :face_with_monocle:

does the woman come with the car? she looks like a nice strong specimen so she could always push it if it breaks down

That's one hell of a bonnet mascot!

Does the bonnet add a few more pounds, to the overall price and weight of the car? :relaxed:

They have to compete with Gumtree somehow on the lower end of the market.
Unfortunately Auto Trader hasn't been great to use recently, not sure if it's just me but I've found that filters break often, and sometimes the reset doesn't work at all on either desktop or Android app.

I just want them to do an update with finer filter of 0-60 acceleration times :disappointed:

I see why they need to do something differently and it's a good deal (as it's free!) but it won't stop idiotic buyers (or people that had no intention to buy) turning up and wasting your time.
I got fed up of this with a prestige car and ended up taking it to a local specialist, yes I get less but I'd rather let the professionals do it. And by professionals, I mean these guys, not 'We Buy Any Car' who offered me 20% less than the people I chose and 35% less than retail...

Who did you use out of interest?

It was a local firm called Targa Florio Cars in Chichester, I did it on SOR as I wasn't desperate for the money.

Lol now it makes sense, donkeys traders who price at £500 to get a free listing then claim missed a zero off should be £5000 you can have it at today's special for 4000.

The auto trader valuation tool provides the value

That wont work. The car needs to be VALUED by autotrader at less than 1k.
So a 5k car, even if advertised for 500 will still valued by them at over 1k, so the advert wont be free .

They valued our old broken car at £1300 and let me list it at £600 for free.

If you looking for a £500 car I doubt you can stretch to £4000

Just report the add, it will be taken down

I report those listings. Not only is it timewasting for buyers to sift through, it loses Autotrader money so in theory they should remove them.

So now the scammers won't have to pay anything to advertise a car they don't have
