takes ddr3 or ddr3/l , could be the basis for a very low power media PC a NAS or seeder box .. or just a low cost PC with additional windows/Linux and ram. desktop processor within a low thermal envelope of on 6 watts.
2 x DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of system memory. 1 x PCI Express x4 slot, running at x1 (PCIEX1_2)
1 x PCI Express x1 slot, running at x1 (PCIEX1_1)
1 x PCI slot <---- might be very useful for older cards Support for Windows 10 32-bit/64-bit
Support for Windows 8.1 64-bit
Support for Windows 7 32-bit/64-bit
* Please download the "Windows USB Installation Tool" from GIGABYTE's website and install it before installing Windows 7
Only problem I foresee is that it only has two sata connection.

Has AES-NI, could be a good VPN box with a second NIC. Low power and should do 100mb encrypted.

Hmm, those N3050 are really very slow, but then again its only £30

Yeah, they should really make faster ones too, for a much higher price.

Horribly slow CPU, about the same speed as a Pentium D or Athlon 64 X2 from 2005/2006. However, if your needs are VERY light and you set your expectations low, it's cheap and could be just about good enough.

By the time you have a case and kitted it out, you could have bought a Dell Optiplex small form factor or HP Elite 8200/8300 from eBay refurbished and it will be more powerful and just as quiet.

Guessing this is for someone who wants a really low power cheap basic media server or something similar.

Would it handle 4k video?

Old probably broken junk from ebuyer I dont see why this unreliable second rate internet shop ever manages any heat.

Never had a problem with Ebuyer, we order lots of different kit from them for work, very good company IMO.
Price is now £29.99 by the looks of it, good cheap Mobo for basic tasks!

Its says in the specs it will handle 4k video but worth checking if you have specific reqs. eg It may only do 4k @ 30fps .. but thats good enough for films and most? home shot video.. Would also make a good internet gateway/ firewall pfsense maybe CCTV recorder/server , they use these all the time on NCIS.

Only 2 SATA ports is a bit rubbish but PCI SATA cards are relatively inexpensive.
Wouldn't trust the cpu for 4k video but as a file server (with the above addition) this seems perfect.
