Horribly slow CPU, about the same speed as a Pentium D or Athlon 64 X2 from 2005/2006. However, if your needs are VERY light and you set your expectations low, it's cheap and could be just about good enough.

By the time you have a case and kitted it out, you could have bought a Dell Optiplex small form factor or HP Elite 8200/8300 from eBay refurbished and it will be more powerful and just as quiet.

Would it handle 4k video?

Old probably broken junk from ebuyer I dont see why this unreliable second rate internet shop ever manages any heat.

Its says in the specs it will handle 4k video but worth checking if you have specific reqs. eg It may only do 4k @ 30fps .. but thats good enough for films and most? home shot video..
Would also make a good internet gateway/ firewall pfsense maybe CCTV recorder/server , they use these all the time on NCIS.

Only 2 SATA ports is a bit rubbish but PCI SATA cards are relatively inexpensive.

Wouldn't trust the cpu for 4k video but as a file server (with the above addition) this seems perfect.

I ordered one of these from Aria on Friday for £26.28 delivered. I'm planning on putting it in handed-down case, adding a quad Ethernet pci-e card and ram from eBay, and using it to run pfSense. 6W TDP is pretty impressive.

Shame it isn't Mini ITX, I could have used it then. Good deal for what it is though.

It'll play old or basic games like the recent full throttle remaster and other stuff. I used a gigabyte Brix with similar hardware to play games like that and also stream my Xbox using Windows 10. Fine for plenty uses.

You could also install LibreElec as the OS and use it as a media centre. Played Blu-ray quality 50GB MKVs no bother for me, but I don't have a 4K TV.

I use one of these in my media PC. When paired with an SSD it never really feels slow and it's perfectly happy decoding 1080p video. It's also virtually silent (with all the other components you would have with it) and consumes a fraction of the power of my previous setup. I highly recommend this if you want a low-cost, low-power option. I never tried 4K but never embraced it as I think it's overkill personally

n3050 is very slow, got one for my kid, but is just too slow for win 10 it is just sitting in the corner for more than a year.

given my core 2 duo E8400 @3ghz can just about do 1080p x265 decoding at about 80% occupancy, imo i do not think it is good them advertising this as 4K. most 4k streaming is x265 isnt it? and i well bear my backside if this chip can do 4k hvec!.
its not a bad price if you have a use, but as a media pc? imo it is not something i would build a media pc around, i dare say a cheapo android box would make a better and ultimately cheaper media centre than this.

(supports 4K display does not mean supports 4k video.. but that advert could easily be misconstrued - not a pop at OP btw)

X265 is such a superior format to X264 that anyone looking to build a media box now has to be thinking of support for that.

I have a Pentium G2020 at home, and although it still does basic stuff, it is getting time to upgrade. So why would you buy something that is even slower?
