What are the implications of holding lots of unused credit cards? I have 6 and only 1 has a debt on it (at 0%).

You sink the economy and plunge us into a world of financial chaos. Lend me one and I will spend some money and save us all.

If you want to take out a loan you may find they reduce your maximum borrowing due to your over exposure to debt. That's all really. Just close ones you don't use.
