Accepted new M&S credit card holders get a decent 25 months 0% on spending. Plus those who apply by 31 Aug and spend at least £100 on it by 30 Sep will get a £50 M&S voucher. Swipe this at the till the first time you use the card at M&S (you can spend on most things, incl food) and you get 500 bonus M&S points worth £5.
Need-to-knows - To get the £50 M&S voucher, apply for the card by 31 Aug and spend at least £100 by 30 Sep. - The voucher will be emailed to you no later than 31 Oct, and you'll need to use it by 30 Nov. - You won't be eligible for the voucher if you already hold an M&S credit card or have done within the last year. - You'll also get a voucher to swipe (or use the code online) which will get you 500 bonus points once you use your card to pay for something in M&S. The 500 points are equivalent to a £5 M&S gift voucher. This voucher will be sent by post with your card. - You'll earn one point for every £1 spent in M&S stores and one point for every £5 elsewhere. One point is equivalent to 1p, and points will convert into M&S vouchers every three months. Make sure you fully clear the card by the end of the 0% period or you'll be charged 18.9% interest on any remaining balance. - Poorer credit scorers could get a higher rate, up to 22.9%. - Always pay at least the minimum monthly repayment, or you'll lose the 0% deal.

Yes.. Without interest..

1 Aug 17#27
Sorry. Yes meant WITHOUT interest kicking in lol. So no minimum payments each month? As long as it's paid in full before 25 months
vassy1 to machomansavage
1 Aug 17#29
You need to pay min amount which would be calculated based on how much money you owe them.. By the end of 25 months it should be completely settled.

I have searched the thread and cannot find the answer to this. Sorry if it I obvious, it's my first credit card.
I have set up the direct debit with my bank account. Will they automatically take the min payment or do I have to manually log into M&S and pay there?
You will have to provide direct debit details onto your credit card account online. You get to pick how much you want to pay. Either min or set amount monthly. Good luck

Same.
It does say in the terms:
you must successfully apply for the M&S Credit Card
Shopping Plus offer through MoneySuperMarket or
MoneySavingExpert. Successful applications made through
other means will not qualify for the voucher offer
I'm wondering if the referral from HUKD invalidates this? Particularly as clicking the "Get" URL adds HUKD to the link... so they are obviously tracking it? Or am I being paranoid

You're right, it specifically says through MSM when you click the link above, its a HUKD link... a bit of a rip off because that is still the 'shopping plus' deal window -_- I got my card today with the 500 points introductory. I'm going to spend the £100 regardless then give them 2 weeks and call them up,

Declined despite 95% chance of success! Funny how credit card companies work but i suppose like if you lend to someone down the pub if you don't like em you dont have to lend them money.
UPDATE: Just applied to mbna 24 hours after being declined for m&s and they gave me a £7400 credit limit. Not sure how these people work out their criteria but i certainly am not maxed out on debt. i have a sainsburys card that has a £2,600 limit and paypal credit with £1500 limit but paypal is less than a third and sainsburys is £800 so hardly a load of money. I wonder if they decline people because of the voucher.
I suppose all have different criteria and maybe if you have cards already they see that as too much. The sainsburys will get closed once the £800 goes and this one is 30 months interest free the sainsburys only had 8 months to go.
Perfect for the new boiler and cylinder

Just applied and not an instand decision! Changing my bank to hsbc to get the £150 and put my old bank details in not started the switch yet!
Got a sainsburys card but only 9 months interest free left and need to upgrade boiler less than a grand on this card! Can anyone else tell me how theirs went? Also does the voucher have to be spent all at once

How do credit cards work? Does this mean if I spent 5 grand on it I would have 25 months to pay it off with interest kicking in?
ollie87 to machomansavage
1 Aug 17#26
You'll have to pay at least the minimum amount each month. If you like you can do that for 25 months and then balance transfer it to another 0% card, etc.
jcluk to machomansavage
1 Aug 17#30
How they really work is that a large number of people take on zero percent and then don't repay in the period so end up paying interest. That's why these are offered.
Best to pay for stuff with money you have.

Suggests the £50 is to be used once / in one transaction. Seems a bit tight for those who were looking to use over several food shops perhaps. If true.

1 Aug 17#15
Good if they let you use it. My wife had M&S card for few years and had nothing but payment troubles. Any larger online purchase transaction was flagged as suspicious by their fraud tools so not able to complete. You need to ring them to unblock the card and even after that transaction gets declined. And we are talking not about dodgy Chinese sites but retailers like Asda etc. So never again...

If you want to take out a loan you may find they reduce your maximum borrowing due to your over exposure to debt. That's all really. Just close ones you don't use.
