Most of us already know how this works. This is a nice way of availing a prime handset. But beware of a temporary impact on your credit scores. You need to click the 3GB 129.99 upfront payment option to get the device price of 417.99 (129.99+ 24 x 12) and that is if you play it right. In short, 1. order this deal online, 2. on the day you receive the phone make a chargeable or included phone call with the supplied O2 sim, 3.Request sim unlock online. 4. pay off the device plan and cancel the airtime plan. you will not be charged 24 months airtime or 1 months airtime (some cs advisor may charge this, if so call again for another cs ). The only charge can be pro rata. £1 or £2 based on which day you cancel. I bought about 10 O2 refresh deals over the last few years and never paid anything extra. ( I was once charged 24 months airtime which was later refunded)
update 9:01 pm 10 Aug 2017: it seems Black is OOS but Rose gold is available on this deal

Not a great deal I'm afraid. I managed to get this on O2 a short while ago for £287.
I know you can't get it now, but a jump of about £130 is too much.

'Temporary impact on credit score'. That's due to cancelling the airtime right? How long is temporary? Hmmmm P.S. Why would some CSA's charge for airtime?

The cancellation method is simple. You get the phone, ring o2 tell them to cancel the airtime contract and pay for the device. It's o2 themselves or their staff that don't do the work on the other side. Either not cancelling the airtime bit or billing you the whole amount in one go.
On the initial call they tell you it's all done. However, you get the bill a few weeks later by email.
The service is absolutely shocking. They pass you from one person to the next and each say the person before didn't action the refund. Never again!
