The Xiaomi redmi note 4 has a major problem with the other party not being able to hear you clearly at all, unless you you only talk using a car kit or some other method. To add to this the customer service from AliExpress is dreadful, they have failed to help resolve my issue. I can say this with personal experience.

Mine works just fine, it's the best phone I've ever owned for the cost off less than £120.

You've been or I've been very unlucky because; A. Has the issue. B. The seller didn't want to know. And C. AliExpress did not help resolve the problem. So all in all a bad experience. With regards to Xiaomi phones, I've had the note 2 and note 3 with no issues. But I will tell you this, if you google the voice issue on note 4 you will find others who've had the same problem.

Ok I think I kinda remember how to fix the problem now. Follow this video click. Then go to settings/Google/Search/Voice/Hands-free and enable both For Bluetooth devices & For wired headsets.

Bought these for my wife and father-in-law and they both love them, no issues at all!

This exact problem occurred on my xiaomi redmi note 3. I did not know it was a more general or recurrent problem.

Never seen that on my Note 3.

There's an issue when you make a hands free call. When you speak into the mic the other person cannot hear you. There's a fix that I posted in the Ask section (I can't remember how to do it off the top of my head) but I can't find it.

I had this issue. Rooted and installed a custom ROM which resolved the issue. From the research I did I think the issue is software related and not a hardware failure. It seemed to occur with updates to MIUI. It was a bit of a faff going through the root process and getting a custom ROM installed, but it was immediately running the latest version of Android. The ROM community support is one of the main reasons I tell people to buy a Redmi Note phone.

I love this phone, but have noticed issues with the MIUI. Please can you direct me to the guide you used (if there is one) to root the phone and which custom ROM did you use? Thanks Mate.

I'm using the xiaomi.eu ROM on mine. It's a tweaked version of the China global rom

I'm guessing banking apps won't work after this though

xiaomi.eu ROM comes with SafetyNet pass. I am also rooted with the latest Magisk v13.3, NatWest app working on my phone

Amex, Natwest and Halifax banking apps all work on my phone (no idea about others).
You have to wait a couple of days then post it as a deal, it ensures there are as least 3 concurrent deals running on the Note 4 at any one time, we all take it in turns to post a deal. ;-)

What are you on? Having read that a few times, I take it that it was an attempt at humour?
What confuses me is that it isn't the cheapest price, yet people post it & others vote it hot!!! When looking for the gold colour there is no excuse - search 'note 4 global' & sort by price, ignore about 2 that are 'global rom' with no band 20...
I don't post good deals that aren't massive deals (simply no point as anything a few percent cheaper is iced by those miffed by people posting deals that don't save them hundreds of pounds - basically your attitude - and the sheep who follow the first few votes). It should be called hotukmisprices.

Sorry you didn't find it amusing. As I said, there seems to a deal on the Note 4 every other day. All the traders on Aliexpress tweak the prices daily, obvious lots of competition between them.

What is amusing was that I first thought you meant that there was a new official rule that you couldn't post a 4th deal for the same item even if cheaper - stranger things have happened!!!

Well I was trying to give that impression!! Such are the mysterious ways of HUKD, blocking deals for UK shops but allowing ones from China, can't possibly imagine why, unless of course they are getting backhanders...

If that be the case, then that would be really REALLY ironic, huh? (considering that the exact same Product is being flogged via the exact SAME Retailer/Merchant too etc?), hehehe.
I'm viewing this on my phone at the moment (+ your link too), it's showing US Dollar's only, and I'm unable to see/change it to UK Pounds Sterling, to be able to now see the fullness of your above statement (sadly). :-(
Is there a way to do that 'change' via a mobile phone device, or whatever?.
Thanx. :-)

Try 'show desktop site'.
This deal $145.24
The 1st one I came to is $141.98 - just over $3 or about £2.50. Would hopefully cover a case! : )
It isn't the same name of seller, but you may know more than I do about sister companies!
EDIT comes out at £114.47 vs £111.90 if you let AE do conversion (slightly better rate than XE.com at present, which is a surprise). EDIT3 Misread the XE.com - about £4 cheaper at XE.com rate - if you have a good no-exhange-fee card, use that & pay in $.
EDIT2 both black & grey over £3 cheaper.

this is the best phone ever, its so good its actually annoying considering how much it costs lol. dont know about others but mine has no issues whatsoever works like a dream, software is quick build is amazing and in black looks the business too although its a fingerprint magnet. its on the large side though, but for the price up its unbeatable.

Problem solved ... hehehehehe. ;-)

Yep got the 4gb/64gb thru the deal the other week, no problems at all, amazing phone for the price, battery fantastic so much so I have fallen out of the habit of charging it every night...

Where from please? I've been after this version for ages. Is yours the snapdragon 625 version?
Great thanks for that, Is it full band 20 support? willmyphonework.net says re 4G that "Device is compatible with some of the network carriers frequencies. It may work." I'm with Tesco mobile (basically O2) Cheers :raised_hand:

Yep full band 20, have 2 sims in mine (plusnet and talktalk) and both work fine and have not heard of any issues with O2
Any idea why benchmark scores differ between the standard 4gb/64gb and the global version? What are the differences?

Yes, got my wife the 4GB/64GB version and she's absolutely made up with it! She had a Huawei P8 (not lite!) before, which was a flagship phone when released and thinks the Redmi Note 4 is quite a lot better in every aspect except the camera (which is still perfectly fine for what she uses it for). She's a pretty heavy user and gets a good 2 days out of the phone between charges. These phones represent the best bang per buck in the mobile market IMO.

How does the phone handle GPS? Having a workable Sat nav on the phone is a deal breaker for me.

But it will hopefully mean the price of the Note 4 will fall by £20ish, maybe I'm being hopeful.

C. AliExpress did not help resolve the problem.
