Ain't that the truth! Can you believe Sky actually tried to break our original broadband contract because i took out (what i thought) was a good offer on the tv and tried saying our original offer was now only valid with a tv deal!
Was on the phone for over an hour trying to get out of our broken contract and has to threaten in the end to get a result,AVOID SKY AT ALL COSTS!

Err how about they mislead people on the phone falsely selling packages without telling them of changes to their existing deals in an attempt to con them out of more money? Shocking company that doesn't respect people's contracts

They did offer me a £30 deal for the same package, but to be honest for 18pm more I get a free SIM sky movies, landline and unlimited 40mb fiber. I would never use sky again.
I know a few people who went with sky fiber and they never give you the full potential your line can handle, they give you the lowest speeds they think they can get away with, because they are bags.

Try cancelling a sky TV package with, took me ten hours of messing about, they are a joke.
They make it so hard to cancel on purpose, not to mention the 3 times they put the phone down on me when I mentioned the word cancel.
Google all the complaints about sky.
I mean I am with talk talk for everything and Thier customers service is crap, but least they sort any problems
One lady at sky even refused to cancel my contract because she should have finished at 8pm and it was 8.45. fing unreal.
This is not to mention the rip off prices £50 pm just for sky TV with sports.
Talk talk I pay 48 a month with sky movies, all the sky sports, landline and unlimited fiber and mobile SIM plus £95 top cashback and £2 per month cheaper than these clowns.
The are called sky for a reason and that being their prices are sky high.

Gosh you had it even worse than me,I just kept referring to their terms and conditions over and over again making myself feel like a t*** on the phone for an hour and half and eventually managed to get out of a locked contract for double the price I had signed up for !!
They are so rude on the phone when it comes down to either paying them less or cancelling,I swore not to have sky years ago when I remember what a faff it was to cancel but now that they tried to breach our original broadband contract because I took an offer out on a tv package (also falsely sold me credit on the phone just to put the order in and had to chase them up about that) they are such a shocking company I don't know how they get away with it!
Even if sky wanted to give me all they had for free I wouldn't take it ,a terrible A-moral filth of a company.

Me either I wont ever go back to them. The thing that really put the icing on the cake for me was the rude women who refused to cancel as she finished at 8pm, if only my arm could have reached down the phone to strangle her (I'd be up for murder now)

Your loss. It's the best TV service in the UK and I've never had an issue with their broadband/phone.

Probably the best deal for ADSL available at the moment. There has been better, but nothing out there at the moment so voting hot.
Am with Sky on a MSE deal, been absolutely fine. Have had some minor issues this last week, but I think the router is giving up the ghost - time will tell

I'm with SKY Fibre, have you got the Q hub? I don't find the range very good. My previous BT Homehub 5 is better.

Nah I have the older router. My brother signed up on a similar package to me a few weeks later and got a Q box. Had some issues with his wireless home phone and interference but eventually sorted it. Works fine for his 1 bed house but does seem the signal is a bit flaky in these devices :disappointed:

If you have the BT Hub 5A (doesn't work on the 'B' version) install Lede (Openwrt) on it and you can use it with sky fibre instead:- openwrt.ebilan.co.uk/vie…572

Forgive my ignorace, what does LEAD (Openwrt) firmware do compared to what's already on the BT HUB?

27 Aug 17#20
Lede is a fork of Openwrt, which is a linux distro designed for routers. Lede has better support for the BT hub5a than the current Openwrt distro.
The standard Firmware on BT hubs supplied with BT broadband contracts is locked to BT ISPs, so you can still use it if you switch to Plusnet, but not with Sky and most other ISPs.
The Lede/Openwrt firmware isn't locked, doesn't have the highly limited user configurable options of the original firmware, can have additional packages installed, such as OpenVPN, and support for numerous DDNS providers. It also supports WDS or can be set up as a wifi client. You can even change the colours of the LEDs if you want.
The main downside is it is more complicated to configure.
