Hmm, so now we've to stand around petrol stations fiddling with our mobile phones?! I imagine that will go down a treat!

I was actually paying at the pump over the weekend using my phone/app and the guy behind me beeped me because it looked like I was just standing there playing around on my phone instead of filling up lol We had a pleasant exchange after I explained what I was actually doing

I thought you weren't meant to use your mobile near a petrol pump in case the electric discharge from you mobile sets fire to the petrol fumes.

you cant use it outside on the forecourt itself but you can in the car.

They tested mobile phones on Myth Buster some time back...even put mobiles into a bucket of petrol and phoned them, tested on the fumes etc etc...all nonsense!!! Nothing happened. I believe that mobiles were banned from Petrol Forecourts at the start due to the belief that they would/may/could interfere with the electronic readings of fuel taken and the garage would lose some money...again, nonsense!!! :face_with_monocle:

Well.... any spark can cause the petrol to ignite... bcs phones are with the batteries... this is dangerous, if I would spot u filling up using ur fone I would shut the pumps down

I heard if you used your phone at a petrol pump the flux capcitor could stop regulating stopping the fuel from being dispensed

Finally someone speaks the truth.
As for the stability of the app it is often down to the lazy sod at the checkout letting it timeout rather than tap accept on the bloody screen, Giltbrook has been broken for most of this year as apparantly they don't have the staff to go test it.
