Interesting......

Would be REALLY interesting if they'd squeezed an n3450 inside, but the x5-z8300 is a bit underwhelming to be honest.

Can't help but feel the Atom's have had their day, sorry.

Absolutely agree, I stick with molecules these days as due to my age I require glasses to see atoms as they are so bleedin' tiny, like some peoples' minds!

ah if you can see atoms perhaps you can expalin the benefits of HS2; persoanlly I can't see any but I had'nt thought of looking at the moleucular level...

I nearly fell over after reading that. Looks decent for the price.

CPU is far too underpowered (though though not quite as bad as that 2gb Bay Trail laptop someone posted the other day). It's also an entry level Medion, so you're guaranteed crappy build quality.
£250 for this is poor value.

A little expensive for what it is, despite some nice features.
Strange that a new pre-order item should come with the Z8300 as Intel stopped manufacturing those quite a while back now in favour of the very slightly better Z8350, so either there are huge stockpiles of them or it must be the newer flavour.
Agree that at this price an Apollo Lake would have been a better choice.
Around 1200 passmark. Yeah a fast atom but not really a weak i3. More core 2 duo type performance.

I've got this processor in a tablet and it does run Windows OK. However, single core performance is poor, so older / badly threaded apps will perform badly.

I like atoms for their battery life. Have one in my asus t100 which I got from ebay for around 120 quid and battery life is around 9 or 10 hours. So depends what you want to do.
