Because they're stupidly overpriced and repair cost out of warranty is near replacement cost

I assume you can pay this off as soon as it has arrived and close the account?

Exactly and if you where vat registered and could claim the VAT back you could get a £2700 laptop for around £1500. Obviously n/a to all but great deal for anyone in that position

considering this myself now purely because of this.

Are you on the Flat rate VAT scheme? Ordinarily you can't claim back the VAT if so, but I think there is a special rule if the expenditure is >£2k - which this is pre-discount

ive just come off flat rate because of the changes they have made so I will be claiming this back without a doubt.

Still on flat rate myself..but accountant confirms all is good....so a 2017 MBP 15" for £1409, can't really knock it!

Very failed to honour a very similar deal a good while back, despite my complaints (numerous calls) and evidence they just ignored me !!. No longer a customer and won't be using them ever again. Just be warned in case they pull a similar stunt.

I had absolutely no problem with them on my recent iPhone 7 purchase. The 20% refund went into my account the day before they said it would, no problems at all.
Admittedly their call centre is a bit [email protected] when you ring them to check delivery times etc, but other than that it's been an absolutely breeze to buy and settle my credit with them.

Very did exactly the same to me. Failed to honour the promotion despite me receiving a letter from them, told me to prove it by sending them a copy of the letter, then just ignored me. Even my recorded letter to head office was ignored. Will never shop with them again.

Applied for an account and only got a £750 limit, you must have the full amount available in your Very account to get the offer.

ahhhh I think I have the same limit.... does this mean it's not doable then ???

Yep that means you can't do it. You must have a limit that covers the entire cost.
Also when the credit is applied is the 20% back only to be used on another Very purchase?

No it can be used to pay off of your balance. I bought a macbook £1000 so when when the 20% is applied it will bring it down to £800 which I will then pay off in full.

I think you can 'over pay the account' like with credit card limit, so you can purchase the £750+ item. I have a debit balance of +£4 as I overpaid the Sonos offer. Worked without problems in my case.

I've just spoken to Very Online Chat, and they tell me that you can still get the 20% credit, even if your credit limit is below the cost of the Macs. I was only offered £750, but I'm buying 2 Mac Pros at a cost of £2500 - they have confirmed that I'll receive a £500 credit in 45 days.
And yes, I have saved the Chat transcript!

Spoke to soon. The offer might be valid, but there is no BNPL option at checkout. I'm currently on hold to customer service to see if this can be fixed in any way. 28 minutes and counting

Very have confirmed that this is possible - you just need to credit your account in advance of making the purchase. In my case, I need to add £1750 to my account to enable the BNPL payment option for a £2500 purchase.
