Agree, looks like the imminent release of Vega is having an effect on prices. I can only see prices falling (unless miners get in first)...

I'd just buy it while still available to order at this price - it will go fast, just my view (I've owned a 1070 since release, 1080p gaming at 144hz, great card with an i7

Vega 56 will be faster, but also more expensive and much more power hungry. It'll probably drop in between the 1070 and 1080.

Worth waiting to see what effect the launch has on nVidia pricing, if nothing else.
This GPU will be more than enough for 1440p gaming as well. Honestly I wouldn't recommend anyone to spend more than this on a GPU, unless they are an enthusiast in which case they can go ahead and ignore me

Still about as much graphics as you need if you play at 1080p. Paid £260 from mine while I was in the States about a year ago, can't believe they're still so expensive.

Hoping these vega price drops continue. Don't want a vega myself (noisy blowers only for a few months yet). Still waiting for my quicksilver 1070 to ship, hopefully before it's cheaper elsewhere.

I gave up on the Quicksilver from Amazon. They promised delivery one day and then said they didn't have any and didn't know when they were getting more. Got one from Amazon warehouse in the end.

Why not, we've had £249 before, only another £20 on top.
That first one was clearance and store specific, complete and utter wild goose chase, could have only been a few in the UK. Granted the second one is legit but I'd suspect the quantity was still low

£250 sounds about right for the 1070. The 1060 should be around £130-150. Graphics cards are extremely over inflated right now. This lame mining thing (which is aiding criminals such as hackers and perverts) has got to end.

It's true the prices are mad, but even before the mining craze prices were nowhere near that low. And they honestly never ever will, I mean sure, a few deals will come along every now and then but stable prices will stay well over 300 and 200 for the 1070 and 1060 for there entire lifespan

I just don't see how any normal person in 2017 can afford to fork out over £200 or even £300 for a graphics card.

Depends what you mean by normal person. If you have £1000 or so disposable income after mortgage, bills and topping up savings then £200 isn't bad. If you upgrade every 2 years that's 30p a day to save plus whatever you can sell your old card for. If you can't find 30p a day then you have much bigger financial problems
