Just to make people aware, argos returns outside of 30 days are a nightmare.
I bought the 55" Philips that was on here the other week for £449
It had vertical banding and i wanted to return it.
Argos wanted me to ring a phillips number
Philips wanted me to download an image, test it, send a picture to them, send a video, send my soul etc.
They would then send an engineer to confirm.
They would then give me an RMA number
I can then give this to Argos to replace the TV blah blah
Long story short, i had it a week, said i didn't like it (within 30 days) and got my money back. I won't be buying another from them due to this hassle and the fact vertical banding is common, i want someone with good returns like amazon...

Won't be much of an MTB for this price but this is a decent telly so telly it is.

Bike - why did you even ask the question - (unless your TV is broken - then answer is both you are on HUKD)

They must have been annoyed, did Argos refund them?
Try TVSAVE but needs to be £499 +... (http://discountcode.dailymail.co.uk/argos)

Odd you should say that as I had to return my original Philips TV after six months and I had no problems whatsoever. I just told them I'd already spoken to Philips who hasn't been able to fix the problem, they put me through to a technical department who gave me a returns number and even their name in case there were any issues. Ended up getting a full refund.

Sounds like your issue is with the manufacturer, not the retailer. :disappointed:

Thanks for the info. Out of interest, did you pay on a credit card?

Absolutley agree, told me to contact the manufacturer too this after sending me 2 consecative used tv's clearly , some had returned both of them , seals cut and re-taped , accsecories un done batteries in the remote .. etc, the third one was clearly faulty banding and massive back light bleed issues, told to contact manufacturer .
When i wrote to them on facebook saying that this was not my responsibility , they accepted it, but said contact them anyway.finally i had to tell them i am contacting trading standards, this did the trick tv was collected the nextday no doubt they flogged it on to another unsuspecting soul.
Just to let others know for the first 6 months if a fault occurs it is deemec to have been present at purchase it is up to the retailer to prove otherwise, more details Link remember even after 6 months it is the retailer who has to contact the manufacturer on your behalf not the customer
Argos are famous for fobbing off customers and trying to off load them to the manufacturer , i would never ever use Argos for a TV ever again , if possible not even for a small purchase .
