That's wrong. I've done it loads of times with new and second hand starter sets. Worst case scenario is you need to use the serial number on the side of each bulb.

That's a good deal. Starter kit is usually £150 and the motion sensor about £35.

Great price. I got this exact deal on Amazon a few weeks ago when it was deal of the day. After seeing how much better this version is (V3) father than the previous (V2) I wished I had ordered more to replace my old ones, the blues and greens really are superior on V3. Have been waiting for them to drop to this price again and finally they have. <3

How much can the bridges be sold for separately? Tempted at this price for the bulbs and sensor.
I put one on ebay for £26 buy it now with postage at £3.40 and it sold the same day.
Really want to buy this again but after buying it last time and seeing my credit card bill :disappointed: Will have to hope this deal comes up again in about 3 months when I should have paid it off.

Just be careful
Any bulbs that come as part of a starter set will be tied to that bridge
They can only be removed from the original bridge with a hue tap switch
I made the mistake of buying a new set to add to my existing bulbs but couldn't use the bulbs with my existing bridge

Actually you can pair them without unpairing first, you just need to type the serial numbers on the bulbs in to the app.

That is *definitely* untrue... I have got 12 Hue colour and 6 Hue white, coming from 4 different starter kits, all running on a single V2 bridge.
You do need to add them using their MAC address via the app, but no different between this and new bulbs.
Are there any other restrictions or things which could cause this?

Same here - I've also just added the serial number manually with bulbs from a starter kit.
Opening post
Available in both bulb fittings (screw and bayonet).
