If you are after beautiful, premium Windows Ultrabook, take a look at Huawei Mateboox X.expensive but nothing comes close.it's basically MacBook 12 for Windows.
I researched these Windows Ultrabooks extensively..Zenbook,XPS 13,Xiaomi..

Voted hot because it's a good price. However just bought a Chromebook for £250. Aluminium, 1.5kg, 12hr battery life, instant boot, IPS screen, zero maintenance. Friend using it the other day: "how do you do xxxx, I don't know how to use macbooks." That's despite it saying Acer in big letters on it lol.
Specs-wise it's not comparable I'm not arguing one is better than the other, but if you don't need Windows or play games and you just want an ultrabook for the size/weight/battery life Etc., you get a lot for your money with a CB.

Beautiful looking laptop, why have a ugly thick black bezel around the beautiful sharp screen.

Otherwise Apple would most definitely establish a law suit

I doubt that is the reason; Dell XPS has a borderless/edge-to-edge screen for example. I would assume the decision has to do with the size/form-factor of the device - e.g., the lid being able to cover the base of the laptop.

Yes and here's a picture of one. I actually had some one want to trade one in yesterday, but he wouldn't take £300 for it, was worth a try >

£750 is seriously pricey. The UX305 was around £549-£599.

Any processor with a u at the end should be discarded.

Why is it so expensive? Usually a dedicated GPU of some kind on laptops in this price range

It's an ultrabook, shouldn't even be comparing them with bulky laptops with dedicated GPU

There are two directions laptops tend to take when they go above £500- beefy and powerful, or slim and light with a premium design. This is evidently going in the latter direction.

i3 instead of i7, no 500GB HDD, and less RAM. For my purposes, the JL spec is quite adequate, so tempted by that deal.
