I can control spotify, tune in radio and hive heating from this which makes it worth while. so long as amazon keep on investing in the tech, it could be a standard in homes.

Does it link in anyway to my music collection that is controlled by Apple? I have it on iTunes cloud with the match service and my copies are stored on a network drive. I do not and will not subscribe to Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon music or any other pay monthly service

I started my trial 1.5 years ago - I've been a customer since. Very good value for money in my opinion and the kids are using Amazon Videos almost daily.

Damn you op! Couldn't stop my fingers pressing Buy! Buy! Buy! Even though my brain was screaming No! No! No! (as will the Mrs when she finds out where her birthday money's gone). I think the posters noting that what you can achieve with the dot can easily be achieved by other means is quite true but it's still a bit too tempting to buy a nice new toy (or 3). I just have to hope sonos pull their finger out so they'll have some sort of purpose. I have a couple of old school zp120/amps and zp 90 to try with the line in until that arrives - Can't believe I'm so lazy I can't even be bothered to pull my phone out of my pocket and press play, I just need a chair that roles me every couple of hours and my demise into a lazy fat blob is complete - oh! Too late! P.S heat added!

Agreed but you can argue that with any device and looking at this site its such a materialistic world. If you need something then fine but a lot is tat. People think it makes them feel better but you'll always want more pefect for the marketeers!
