From what I gather you need to put it somewhere where it can pick up your WiFi signal from your router and it will extend that from where it's placed. Think of your Wi-Fi from your router as a bubble, this adapter needs to be in that Wi-Fi bubble in order to extend it and than creates an extended bubble of the routers Wi-Fi.

right can someone explain these to me please so do I buy this then plug it in upstairs and it connects to my.eifi then pumps out a strong signal from that or do I put this next to my router then it makes the signal stronger?

Sainsburys instore have these for £13. Seen them in a few stores so maybe its national. I use one to make the signal stronger upstairs and it works great.

Voting cold as I bought this model earlier in the week and found that the Wifi signal to the bedroom I was looking to amplify it to was actually still stronger and faster *without* the use of this extender than it was with it! Going back to Amazon over the course of the weekend.

Only used to get 1 Wi-Fi bar upstairs once I bought this signal strength was much better and faster worth the investment

Order one about 8pm yesterday and already delivered and up and running in about 5 mins.
