Hopefully this might be useful to someone. Basically if you have booked with BA directly in last 24 hours, You can have your price matched and £50 taken off by Virgin.
"Today we've launched our sizzling, money saving deal. If you're a recent British Airways booker, we're giving you the chance to swap your booking to Virgin Atlantic instead, and get a £50 discount on your new flight. We're nice like that!
Tell me more, tell me more...
If you've booked a long haul flight directly with British Airways (ie on http://www.ba.com or via their direct contact centre) within the last 24 hours, you're still in their 'cooling off period' which means you can cancel your flight at no extra cost.
We will match the route and dates of your original booking, and give you £50 off our quoted fare. To find out how to take advantage of this offer, and choose #VAnotBA"
Misleading description as there is no price matching - it's £50 off Virgin's price, not BA's: 'We will match the route and dates of your original booking, and give you £50 off our quoted fare.' - luvsadealdealdeal

I flew Virgin last month Gatwick to Orlando, no complaints at all. Flights were on time, two decent meals each way, good service, wide choice of films, etc, and seat was comfy with good legroom (I'm 6' 4").
Only downside was the 2 hrs+ it took to go through customs/immigration at Orlando but I can't blame Virgin for that.

The link doesn't take you anywhere.
What if you are about to book and you have the quote? Will this still apply.
Have to agree. Used them to come back from SF last year. The aircraft was so old I was amazed it got off the ground. The seats were even older, tatty and very uncomfortable (for a transatlantic flight), most of the seat back monitors didn't work and the food was the worst I've ever had on any airline.
Would never fly with them again at any price.

Good luck getting hold of anyone at BA to cancel your booking!!!! Notorious for 1-2 hour waits and then no action taken by their call centre staff!
