Do they all use the phones display?
Reason i ask is that I tried the cardboard VR which I got free from BT and mostly the image quality was pretty poor on YouTube content and games, demos etc...assuming it's just magnifying the display to cover entire peripheral vision....

I doubt it will ever be cheap. I got one of these when I had a note 4 and cut a few bits to make it fit. Works fine but the note 4 is just a little too old for gear vr, works perfectly fine but overheats very quickly. So I would say don't bother

I got a gear vr headset free with the vodafone offer on here so that gear vr is compatible with a note 4. They say not compatible with note 4 but works fine on my note 4 and fits nicely. Must say it's a pretty decent experience and I had a htc vive previously!

don't think it's compatible with the note 4....I have 2016 version which is great...paired with a Bluetooth controller, which makes things so much easier. looks great on my s7 edge, but have upgraded to the s8....actually looks alittle better....looking to buy the new official controller and also waiting for the official update that allows you to stream to your Chromecast so the people can also see why on earth you're screaming so hysterically. PS the be unite does not an amoled screen built in l....its your Samsung amoled phone that is the screen...just I'd point this out as the item description can be construed as misleading....29quid is a bargain.....heated up

Aside from the controller what's the main differences between this one and the later models?

I've seen so many conflicting reports about whether this works with the S8. Is anyone able to confirm that I could use this with the USB adapter I got with the phone? Thanks

The new vr Inc remote is around £100. So since you can buy the controller separately for roughly £30, I'm in your boat and would also like to know if anyone has used this headset version with the controller and S8/S8 plus combo? Thanks.

I've this for my S7. There's just about enough room for the S7, I can't see how you can fit an adapter AND S8 into the available space. Unless your USB adapter is really short. I tried it with my Anker USB C adapter but it's too long.

Thanks for the feedback Zatos.

That's some very useful information. I have the VR set but not the controller. Could you by chance post a link to the original Samsung controller.
