I've never had the opportunity to try one of these. What's the resolution like? I've heard mainly positive things but some have said VR isn't quite there yet and it won't be until the next generation of hardware until it will be as expected.

It can be blurry. The graphics aren't close to what you find while playing PS4 normally. Having said that, it's offset by the immersion you feel while playing it. It works really well. There aren't many big games for it yet however, as developers are still finding their feet with VR. It's going to be years before it properly finds it's feet. Way past the 2nd gen headsets to be honest.
It's great at doing what it does but ultimately, only you can decide whether you should jump in and invest in it today. It is early tech so I'd say don't go jumping into it expecting to be playing AAA games on tap, otherwise you'll be disappointed.

It's not there yet, reading text is bad, watching any video content is bad, the games are really low res and... it's just crap right now and the tracking in PSVR is so bad.
VR needs 5 more years, that's if developers ever make something worthwhile for it.

You've gotta imagine with all these deals suddenly that they know Sony are going to be knocking the price down or announcing a 2.0 version or something.

There is no way Sony will announce a new headset less than a year later. It would be commercial suicide. The thing costs £350. It would be like announcing the PS5 on Monday and then announcing the PS6 next February.
This is already effectively a price cut. The headset was £350 alone before so you're getting around a £100 price cut already.

I wonder if there is gonna be a VR and PS4 500gb bundle, for £499?

It would be possible with a vanilla ps4 maybe as an xmas deal, but if i was after such a think i would be looking for a pro vrbundle for £599.

I love vr (i have a rift mind you but i did have a dk2 as well which is more like this). You have to understand its limitations and if you can accept those imo there are some genres i just refuse to play out of vr now. IF ED supports PSVR you are in for such a treat. The game itself is a flawed masterpiece but in vr it goes to another level.
Dirt rally is great tho i wont be buying another codemasters product whilst the hold pc vr games to ransom over psvr sales
Edit, farpoint comes with the gun right? If so i am tempted myself for my pro
@maccy1 funny post but for those who dont know and take it seriously the comparison is not the same. In vr your eyes focus to infinity and the refresh rate of the screen is higher. I reckon i get less eyestrain on a massive session in vr than i do sat at a monitor
