You brought them to where? I don't understand your comment.
Very are fine if you get a good product and have no problems. But the moment you have an issue whether it be delivery or product related, you might as well go bang your head against a wall than speak to Very. Awful customer services.

Nope. The drop-down it said to select was only present on the laptops that were £299 and up. I didn't try very hard, though, as I have free educational Office365.

It is Core i3 5005U, no i3 4005 as listed above. Passmark difference is around 500.

Yeah, got the purple one just now. 5005U instead of a 4005U. With all the discounts over the weekend, got it for £234. Amazing deal, thanks.

COLD. Screen is shocking quality 720p. I don't care if it's £200, 720p on a 15 inch screen in 2017 is woeful.

this is a good deal because there is not any other i3 deal anywhere near currently. i3 4005u passmark is still reasonable and better than all the current n series celeron and pentiums in this price bracket. full hd at this price point currently is a no go. for me this machine buy it switch it out for 240gb ssd you have a fast general purpose laptop for £300 and a spare 1tb hard drive

Why is this hot? Crap res, 3 generations old, no SSD.

Hi. I'm looking for a cheap laptop that I can download programs to (eg BBC iPlayer) and watch later via a HDMI lead on a TV. Does anyone know if this is suitable or can they suggest anything better please?

I just bought this for my daughter £190 (with 15% off code-see old BG thread) slower processor but SSD and full HD, DVDRW, SD card , 15"
This is £348.00, thats about £100 more!, not really a good comparison.

Every time a laptopwith a similar spec appears on here there are always criticisms about the price and screen resolution. However, no one posts any links to these mythical i3 laptops with full HD screens. I've spent the last week looking for a similar spec laptop and before this, the best I could find from a decent source was this Acer
This has a better processor and double the RAM. Also, I would hope that the slightly smaller screen size might improve the screen. If anybody can post a better deal I would be really grateful.

For general computing (web browsing, word processing etc) it would be fine and the RAM/HDD will be more of a limitation than the processor, but it won't cut the mustard for more intense multi-tasking/computing.

Good price, but a bit random to have a processor of that generation in a new laptop. I'd be a little concerned about the quality of the rest of the components.

Come on, you know full well that if you have to ask where they brought them from/to, the point of your grammatical comment will be completely lost on the person.
I am pretty sure most people wouldn't think twice of buying from johnlewis too. People only tend to review somewhere when they have something bad to say. There is no incentive to find a website and post a positive review, that is why some sites tend to offer competitions for reviews.

They might have bad rep but at least they are British so you should be protected rather than overseas which can take months to sort out.
