well after my 2nd unlock email came through (just under 24 hours) I phoned up earlier, spoke to a guy in a UK call centre paid off the device plan was asked what else I want to do I wanted to go to PAYG (thinking of 02 priority or 02 Tickets) the guy on the phone was sound, not a problem
basiclly said he will send out a new PATG sim and it should transfer over next week (sure he said Tuesday) he said my final bill should be about £6 for just under a weeks airtime
asked about getting silly bills for early termination fees etc, said I shouldn't as once the account closes I will get a final bill (of about £6)
overall quite happy
Taking my phone to the apple shop at the weekend, where hopefully they will change it for a new one

sounds like what I was told earlier I had 2 unlock requests, both took just under 24 hours (1st one I entered the wrong security details)

First bill £28, already taken from my account contact O2 chat they said wait for final bill to be produced you will be refunded, not happened...today another email saying another bill was produced £490 will be taken on the set date, contact CS asking for answers...they said the £490 bill will be cancelled and I'll be refunded the £28 Let's wait and see, not confident

what's happened to you is quite common with these 02 refresh deals you will be refunded (in the end) and usually the early termination fee bills get cancelled once this is sorted theses deals are great, its just the hassle when you cancel
they usually advise on cancelling the DD to ensure no money goes out your account

Yes they do - but cancel the DD, they attempt to collect the payment, it bounces and they then trash your credit file (from experience). Better to let them take payment and then reclaim it.
The deals are great but their systems are flawed on many occasions.

Whats your personal experience ?? I've had 8 02 refresh deals now, my credit score before these was excellent and it is now Even EE told me so recently with the £4.99 sim deal on here
I've got Noodle free credit check, and there's no mention of any 02 credit checks or black marks

They credit check you when you sign up for the first phone (you may recall they asked for how long you have been at your current address).
On the last 5S deal, they didn't bill me but another part of their system recorded a missed payment despite the direct debit still being in force. It led to a red flag on my credit file, only discovered when I was rejected for a current account (since signed up for all free credit monitoring reports). They did similar on a previous desk too (that time they refunded the final bill to an old unused account that appeared somewhere in the archives of their system and the current bank account that I had registered with, then again didn't notify me of their error and reported it as a dent to the credit reference agencies).
Both resulted in formal complaints, both did not show on my online account, both eventually sorted after months of hassle.
Just watch them, that is all I am saying.

Thanks I will
if you can watch last nights Watchdog, there was a bit about getting bad marks off your credit file think it was Vodaphone along with other mobile phone companys who had a bad record with this
but there was some good advice on it

My credit file was returned to normal after formally complaining but it did take a while and is stressful when companies mess up.
