I bought one of these recently, it is complete and utter rubbish.
If Moses had stumbled across a bunch of these he would've still gone for the flat rocks instead.

I don't think is now possible. Got my Dad one, probably around the same time as you. Told him, whatever he did, not to allow it to update, guess what?! Apparently the current firmware version no longer allows you to Android-ify it.

Exactly, how is it more than 1.5 years later, these are still selling for the same £35 odd mark? (that's actually quite impressive!) it's like the ONLY Androidified iPadesk Tablet out there or something (as other than the NEXUS Tablets, it's the first time an Android anything has held such 'value' for sooooooo long like that like?, like WOW, WOW, WOW ... )

The new version is 99% the same too so save £15 and grab it, i just got one from argos since i had a £20 ebay voucher and paid £30, the battery lasts a long long time and perfect for blue toothing music and for kids.

How does this compare to a 1st gen nexus 7 interms of performance? My 1st gen nexus 7 has become quite sluggish after whatever the last update for it was...

I reverted my Nexus back to the previous version. Runs like a dream super slick. Worth trying to fix before paying for another tablet

Sometimes these suffer from being compared to an iPad or similar. If you think of this as an e-reader with added extras its brilliant.
